Plane Crash in Austin
2010-02-18, 10:58 AM #1
Apparently a guy kamikazed a plane into the IRS building today in Austin.
http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/02/18/texas.plane.crash/index.html?hpt=T1

You can view his letter here:
www.embeddedart.com (it might get shut down who knows. This is his alleged letter)

Suffice to say, it's clear that he was just a bitter ****. Don't get me wrong, the government does do a lot of ****ty stuff. But for instance...

1. If he was in financial trouble, why didn't he sell his plane (which he owned)?
2. If he was moving to get a new job, why didn't he just go somewhere else other than Austin with a better engineering market? There's this internet thing you can use to find stuff like that
3. He appears to like the shotgun approach. Blasting unions, government, capitalism, and other contradicting things all at once! GO COMMUNISM!
4. Apply for welfare/unemployment/bankruptcy (which i know is tough mentally, but just personally i would've done it rather than crash a plane)

Try and keep this thread somewhat civil

From what I have heard, he stole the plane, didn't own it. Somewhere else speculated that it started with a domestic dispute. Not so sure that letter is his, could be... who knows right now. So far no one has been reported killed (except probably the pilot)

"1:40 p.m. The official said the plane was a Piper and that officials believe Stack owned it. Initially there was confusion that the plane was stolen, but the official said that officials no longer believe that is true. Asked whether it was suicide, the official said "it looks like it."

Also the website is registered to him, and CNN is reporting the note, so I'm guessing its true

Thank god he didn't kill anyone in his misguided attempt to "prove" a point. Good riddance jackass...

I blame this on Haiti. Why? Seems like the worst possible thing to do.

That was a hell of a suicide note. I can't say that I disagree with much of what he said. It's a shame that he'll just be written off as another crazy person & that no action will be taken to correct anything.
? :)

Whatever action should be taken shouldn't be done in response to this ****ing piss-poor misguided attempt at expressing himself

It was probably something lame like a piper warrior or piper cheroke. They're little.

It was probably like a gnat hitting a semi-truck and that is disappointing, because I was almost excited when I heard that someone hit an IRS building with a plane. Mostly because I know it had to be domestic, no terrist would be interested in the IRS.

Yeah, probably didn't do anything more than break some windows and start a fire.

I dunno, I just read the note and it's apparent that he was pretty adept at expressing himself.

Anyhow, the act was of course terrible, and perhaps not even thought all the way through...I'm pretty sure not all of the would-be victims would have been evil enablers of government oppression.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

I read an article that indicated he had a full tank of avgas, and that it could have caused a lot of damage.

Meh, I doubt it. Avgas really isn't that special. But it's the same color as mountain dew voltage, and I guess thats kinda cool.

Other interesting sidegames could include how long it will take Obama to blame Bush for this or how long it will take MSNBC to blame the Tea Party.

This is another disgruntled version of someone going postal. I also heard that he was angry with the catholic church as well. At least he didnt crash into a church full of innocent people.

Yeah, he does mention the Catholic Church (and not in the best of terms) during his rant about taxes.

No, the hell with that. He couldn't take responsibility for the fact that the common factor in all of his failures was him. **** him.

I never heard of him blaming capitalism. Where was that?

Most likely, Republicans and Democrats will do what they always do: point fingers at each other.

While I don't speak German so I couldn't confirm this myself, I was under the impression that Mein Kampf was actually not very well written, containing many grammatical errors, et cetera. Is that what you were getting at?

You were right.

The Tea Partiers are capitalists, though; this guy was anti-capitalist and possibly pro-communist.
