People invented clothes because it was too cold.

No, but there were plenty of whorehouses and plenty of chlamydia to go around.

Whatever, practically everyday there's a new story of a coverup, lost data, resignations. If anti-Global War on Terror democrats had this much evidence to support their cooked-the-books theories with regards to pre-war intelligence you guys would be all over it. Instead, we'll all just so "oh, poor bears" about animals that practically qualify as aquatic. Reminds me of the cute, Coca-Cola style, cartoon bears in Algore's movie.

I think they're referring more to the fact that this is clearly a fun thread, not a yell-at-each-other thread.

Yes, but that doesn't work here with certain Massassi hot button topics. When you make fun of certain things that many here hold as core beliefs they can't limit their interaction to humor and we've had two funny pictures already.

No because I absolutely see how that picture parodies the anecdotal evidence being used to prove global warming.

I don't know if you're joking or not so I'll just respond as if you're not & apologize later if you are. He's probably referring to the polar bear that's on the ice. He's probably thinking that it's possible that he's going to drown. If you're not aware, scientists have witnessed polar bears having to swim 60 (100 is about the best they can do) or more miles as the ice shelf melts. They've also discovered that several carcasses that were the result of exhaustion, hypothermia or drowning. In other words, he's simply expressing his sympathy towards another living creature. It's not uncommon to do so. Many people do the same for their pets when they're injured or killed. Surely you can understand that. It doesn't really matter who or what caused the problem. My apologies to everyone if I was incorrect in my assumption as to which photo Temperamental was referring to.

er... there is a difference between scientific evidence for and poetic representations of something?

Sort of like all of the retarded right-wingers that are constantly stating that global warming isn't occurring because it's snowing where they are. John Stewart did a wonderful skit on this.

You know, more and more I think that Wookie isn't serious and he's just parodying an over-the-top "right-wing" to an unrealistic extent to make fun.
I'm still not sure, but when he posts stuff like that my suspicion increases greatly.

You know, sometimes my incredibly pampered chihuahua puts on this incredibly pathetic face, shivers as if absolutely terrified, and acts as if he's about to die as you approach him to comfort the poor little [faker]. It would be one thing if the photo showed that spire of ice protruding from an endless ocean, miles in each direction, but it doesn't. It is purposely portrayed in the manner it is by people who want you to think that the poor bear is in the situation I described as opposed to just hanging out on a piece of ice jutting from an iceberg. Likely, that bear spotted a baby seal and drug it to another portion of the 'berg and ate it without giving it the courtesy of at least humanely clubbing it to death first.

Did you just blame the bear for eating seals?

If I just pretend wookie isn't serious, I can get a lot of enjoyment out of his posts. I just have to make believe he's a Stephen Colbert type parody.
