I am quite poor.
However, I was able to answer 92 of the
100 possible questions on the Naturalization Test. I think I probably would have gotten 95 if I wasn't speeding through it and I had an actual judge instead of sample answers. Here's what I missed:
40. Who is the Chief Justice of the United States?
A: John Roberts (John G. Roberts, Jr.)
I said Scalia (he was the first justice I thought of)
49. What is one responsibility that is only for United States citizens?
A: serve on a jury, vote
I didn't understand the question and didn't care enough to think about it
50. What are two rights only for United States citizens?
A: apply for a federal job, vote, run for office, carry a U.S. passport
Same as above
66. When was the Constitution written?
A: 1787
Yeah, I didn't know. I knew it was a while after the Declaration in 1776.
67. The Federalist Papers supported the passage of the U.S. Constitution. Name one of the writers.
A: (James) Madison, (Alexander) Hamilton, (John) Jay, Publius
Didn't know. I said Thomas Paine (but I don't know who that is).
68. What is one thing Benjamin Franklin is famous for?
A: U.S. diplomat, oldest member of the Constitutional Convention, first Postmaster General of the United States, writer of "Poor Richard's Almanac", started the first free libraries
My answers were being a bad ass, bangin' French *****es, having bad taste in birds, "discovering" electricity, building the first (American) paper mill, and rockin' the ganj'. I think that would have been good enough, right?
69. Who is the "Father of Our Country"?
A: (George) Washington
Yeah, I said Uncle Sam. Stupid question anyway.
77. What did Susan B. Anthony do?
A: fought for women's rights, fought for civil rights
No clue
79. Who was President during World War I?
A: (Woodrow) Wilson
lol War
A couple things to note:
I never had a US History teacher in high school. I took AP US History for a year, but the man in charge of that class certainly did not do anything resembling teaching. Only 1 person in my graduating class passed that AP test.
But more importantly, when you take the actual test you are only asked 10 questions. And you only have to get 6 of them right.
(Oh and by the way, much like AoEJedi's aunt's black guy, I voted for Obama because I thought he would lower unemployment more/faster than McCain. [Among other reasons.])
