Lady Gaga is better than Queen

Maybe slightly better than a drag queen but that's about it.

Vienna Teng and Imogen Heap are far more talented and deserving of the fame, IMO.

And I won't even go into that statement, Thrawn.

Vienna Teng with one of her many many variations of Gravity. (Starts about a minute and a half in) I like her because she takes risks and really experiments with her music all the time. I don't think a single version outside of the obvious album version is repeated when she plays live.

And of course, the immensely creative Imogen Heap does all sorts of whacky, yet incredibly great sounding music.
2010-04-24, 8:27 PM #10
They're not really similar enough to Lady Gaga to imply that they should be getting some kinda credit that she is instead.
2010-04-24, 8:45 PM #11
This is easily the best rendition of Lady Gaga:

Yeah these are cute but not all that memorable imo, I don't think I could ever picture anyone dancing to them

I don't want to picture anyone dancing to Lady GaGa.

And Lady Gaga and I wish you the best in that! But just be aware that not everyone hates fun.

Yes, "fun". Oh the "fun" I am missing.
2010-04-25, 5:45 PM #16
I don't get why people hate Lady GaGa. Its just fun dance music.

Because dance music doesn't have to be bad.
2010-04-25, 5:49 PM #18
It's quite good. It's reasonably well-written when it needs to be, catchy, funky, and avant-garde enough to keep my music major friends interested.

You hating pop music doesn't make Lady Gaga bad.
2010-04-25, 5:50 PM #19
Okay, but Lady Gagas songs are catchy. Opinion! lol!

Imogen Heap has had some amount of success too. Her songs have been featured on television!

2010-04-25, 5:50 PM #20
No it doesn't, but despite being being pretty throwaway her songs are actually pretty well crafted.

Also you can't really compare Imogen Heap seeing as they're completely different despite being solo chicks.
nope.
2010-04-25, 6:04 PM #21
Sure I can, I just did.

Also, it is opinion, I never stated otherwise. But I don't find anything in her music to be revolutionary or even worth listening to. Oh, and I can't judge her lyrical quality since I can't understand her half of the time. If it's not a refrain it's typically nothing but mumbles. If it weren't for the above posted acoustical versions I'd probably never have a chance of hearing it.

And Thrawn, I don't hate pop music. I hate Lady Gaga. There's a difference.
2010-04-25, 6:07 PM #22
It's not revolutionary, it's just catchy as hell.
nope.
2010-04-25, 6:10 PM #23
Music can be fun and not revolutionary :P Imogen Heap isnt exactly revolutionary.

But like i asked before, WHY do people hate lady gaga? If it's not your type of music then... whatever, dont make a big deal about it.

I think the thing that bothers me the most is there seems to be a lot of people (particularly girls) who look up to her as some sort of role model of which she most definitely is not. And she seems to have no problem with perpetuating that.
2010-04-25, 6:19 PM #25
Why isnt she a role model? Because she dresses funny?

Someone like Lindsay Lohan is who you should worry about when it comes to being a bad role model :P

She's not that far off from Lohan, actually.

But why? You keep saying "I hate lady gaga." When asked why, you respond with "because."

She is immensely more talented and intelligent than Lindsay Lohan.

If she's a drug-addicted mess in 5 years, I'll agree with you. Until then, I don't see what the problem is. Are you uncomfortable because she's a woman with sexual agency?
2010-04-25, 7:00 PM #29
Cool Matty seems like one of those people that likes fringe artists because they "experiment" and are "original" even if they completely suck.

She's already doing drugs, by her own admission.

Emon seems to be one of those people that makes sweeping judgments about someone else's opinions without even fully reading what the other person wrote. She doesn't have to be the most original or experimental. But considering what others say she is, I would expect something. It's irrelevant anyway, as I judge her on more than just that alone (such as something as simple as entertainment, which I already mentioned.)

Go ahead guys, keep attempting to take the high road on this one, but it was an opinion from the start, and you're arguing for nothing.
2010-04-25, 8:39 PM #32
Wait.. the fact that she's admitted to doing drugs makes her like Linday Lohan?

Funny, I don't like much of their music either. Crazy how that works. Beatles is a great example. It's like the more drugs they were into, the worse they were. Also, apparently because other artists used drugs, that I am not allowed to use that as an example of her being more like Lohan? Besides, I'm allowed to have my own judgments even if they're merely feelings, not concrete facts.

Edit: On top of that, I haven't seen anything that is positive as well, besides the arguable vocal talent. It goes both ways, you know.
