I wouldn't go as far as saying it was ridiculously soft. The goalie did not expect Maicon to be able to take a such a narrow shot. Hell, Maicon just blazed down past the defense men and shot the damn thing in without readjusting the ball. It was amazing I think.

The shot was only possible because the goalkeeper's positioning was terrible. A shooter should never be able to put the ball between the keeper and the near post from that angle.
