-------------------------

I copied and pasted that pretty much.

Anyways, that's right, Cirque du Soleil will perform for Microsoft's new project of controller-less gaming, which is currently codenamed Project Natal. From artistic visionaries to playing video games for money, I gotta say this is exciting to see, it's like a video game announced already...except the game is about watching people in costumes and weird make up play video games while doing amazing feats in the air.

G4TV collected rumors, which makes this totally pointless, but some say that games such as The Elder Scrolls V, GTA V (or possible Red Dead game), The Legend of Zelda game series addition, Starhawk, a new Need for Speed game, and most importantly, Sonic the Hedgehog Freeriders (AKA using NATAL). That's right, wireless Sonic.

The official list of rumored games is here.

Anyways who gives a ****, discuss.

Why Valve thinks they have any business talking about Half-Life 4 and 5 at this point is beyond me...

I didn't catch it at first, either.
I can't wait for the day schools get the money they need, and the military has to hold bake sales to afford bombs.

Nice one.
2010-06-13, 5:28 AM #10
Is there anything on that list that isn't a sequel?

The only thing I currently want to see [and isn't on your list] is Driver 5.
nope.

I must be getting old...not much on there excites me except Mass Effect 3 and HL Ep3.
woot!

Mass Effect 3, Gears of War 3, Portal 2, and some new Zelda? 2011 is going to rock. But... everything I play now is sequels.

That's okay, practically all of the movies we watch now are sequels, remakes, or reboots.

So basically it's another year of ****ty games that I don't care about. :(
? :)
2010-06-13, 11:41 AM #16
Yeah, because Portal was such a ****ty game.

I liked the concept of Portal but I became bored w/ it very quickly. Then again, I don't really play single-player games. Feel free to omit "****ty" if it makes more sense.
? :)
2010-06-13, 11:54 AM #18
Yeah, it would. :) Many of the games listed are really hard to dispute the quality but taste is a different matter.

Actually, I'm pretty darn excited for the majority of those games. Especially for a new Zelda Wii game. FINALLY, I'll have a use for my parents' Wii console other than New Super Mario Bros. and Galaxy. Oh, and the new Goldeneye and Metroid. Obviously.

Valve games, definitely. I'm a fanboy.

I REALLY hope a new Elder Scrolls game is announced. I THOROUGHLY enjoyed Oblivion for many, many hours.

Brink looks to be promising.

If I had a console, NBA Jam would be my No. 1. New Mortal Kombat *SQUEAL*, Sonic 4, and Rock Band 3!!

Only psyched for Marvel vs. Capcom 3 if it comes out for PC. I don't see why they wouldn't do it though. SFIV engine, right?

In Call of Duty: Black Ops, instead of the leveling up system featured in recent Call of Duty games, there will be a microtransaction system that allows you to purchase new guns and attachments.

GoldenEye remake (Wii/DS with Daniel Craig instead of Pierce Brosnan)

WHY? I like Craig, and I guess it makes sense in terms of marketing because he's the hot thing with Bond right now, but he's not the "Goldeneye" Bond and never will be. > : (
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.
2010-06-13, 10:34 PM #23
Is it a new Goldeneye or another Bond game?

It's listed as a remake under "Confirmed games" in Jay's post, which I quoted.

I like the looks of the new Xbox, as well. built in wireless, finally!

That Kinetic (Project Natal) Star Wars game looked that interesting....but mostly because I like Star Wars. Metal Gear Rising looks good, but it does seem a bit more like Ninja Gaiden than Metal Gear.
2010-06-14, 4:46 PM #27
Cirque de Solei performance tomorrow. Watch the Kinetic thing in action there too, but one complaint is:

During the Star Wars Darth Vader fight, when the sabers clashed, there was a struggle between strengths of the wielders of the saber, except the person doing the kinetic was exaggerating this, when in reality, there is no force applied to him, and finally he overthrew Darth Vader.
2010-06-14, 5:19 PM #28
It's Kinect, not Kinetic.

New console looks good, looking forward to getting one to replace my aging 20 GB, HDMI-less box. Not sure what I'll do with the old one since it isn't going to be worth much, but I guess it's good to have a spare.

Blizzard doesn't show at E3, that's why they have blizzcon.

Another year of rehashes. Looking forward to the original IPs that aren't getting much coverage. This year's highlights for me were definitely Borderlands, Arkham Asylum, Darksiders & Red Dead Redemption, and I want to see what's new next year.

That being said, I'm quite pumped about the new Deus Ex. From what I've heard so far it's pretty close to the original, with new features added in not to appeal to a mass market, but to help the player tackle everything in the manner which they see fit, without the game getting in their way. (Melee combat in Deus Ex comes to mind). Metal Gear Rising looks pretty interesting, and I'll admit it, Borderlands 2 & Arkham Asylum 2 have piqued my interest quite a bit.

I'm really excited about the new Deus Ex, I just really hope it doesn't play like other Square Enix games. If so, it'll be a complete disaster.

Really? Because I thought it looked terrible. Even if it's just a pre-rendered video, the pre-rendering quality and concept portrayal looked utterly unconvincing and laughable.

If there is going to be a motion-oriented Star Wars game, shouldn't it be with the Wii Motion+ controller or the new Sony wand thing..? You already holding something physical that resembles a lightsaber hilt... Why going with Kinetic's system boggles my mind.

I think the Microsoft conference, overall, was lackluster and, at times, cringe-worthy (like the guy trying to dance). I hope Nintendo and Sony have something memorable.

Agreed; The Star Wars game was basically Time Crisis with a SW injection.

Squeenix is just the publisher, not the developer.

Also Boco, I had forgotten about Red Dead Revolver, completely. You make a good point.

Can't wait for Saints Row 3.
SR2 is the game I often use as an example of a (sandbox) game done right. Despite it's bugs it's still the best out there by far, I'll be interested to see if they keep the magic going or screw it up.
Also cautiously optimistic about the new Fallout, I'm liking the changes made.

The natal doesn't look like much fun to me. Which is ironic, because I enjoy the Wii immensely and was looking forward to natal initially. But it looks like too much work.

Saints Row 2 on foot controls + GTA4 driving and visual presentation + certain features from both games that the other lacks = perfection.

I love SR2, but then I start GTA4 up and the driving is just immensely more enjoyable...
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

Ewwwwww GTA4 for driving? Never, ever, ever.
If SR3 has GTA4 driving then I'm going to go Krokodile hunting with my shotgun.

Even with mods to make the driving more realistic instead of the half-assedjob GTA did it still falls short.

GTA4 told a good story, but SR2 is better in every way IMO
