A mosque at ground zero? Really??

1.) A mosque is not the Muslim equivalent of an office tower.

2.) It's a bad sign that you think it's okay to react like a Muslim radical would.

I dont know what the **** you are talking about, and I know I dont react like the muslim world, and very far from it. To me, Its disrespectful to build this mosque next to ground zero, and I could care less for your antagonizing.

Oh hay guys, I don't understand this story. Are the same Muslims who flew buildings into the World Trade Center building a mosque now?

So do some of you here like the admiral of awesome think that this is proper?

Yes. It seems like it's either a worthwhile statement of acceptance/recognition that the entire Muslim world (especially American Muslims) aren't to blame, OR just something rather neutral that doesn't warrant getting all apoplectic.

You couldn't care less.

You are accusing all followers of a religion of the actions of a violent subset. A Muslim extremist would accuse all followers of a religion of the actions of a violent subset. Therefore, you are a Muslim extremist.

 I am a Muslim extremist? What a poor example of a statement that displays my viewpoints. I take that as an offense, and I think you got this blown way out of proportion. I dont have anything against a peaceful religion as long as it does not negatively affect or dominate anyone. So what do you think that would be the proper decision since you are so much more intelligent than us!

The extremists have a terrible and twisted worldview, so why exactly should we concern ourselves with how they view it? Screw that, let's stay true to our values instead.

Again, why should we let extremists (of the anti-Muslim variety) dictate what we do and how we live our lives?

You're all wrong. Building a mosque there does not tell the terrorists that they won. In fact, they win if we stop it being built. This is saying, you ****ers punched us in the face, but we're the better country and we forgive you.
THIS. I don't know if "forgive" is the right word, but it definitely demonstrates how much better we are.

By me they're having protests about a planned mosque. It's amazing the flagrant bigotry. You like to think it's not the mainstream.

Whilst my preference is to wake up one morning and discover that all religious people have become atheists, in this situation I guess building a mosque is a perfectly reasonable course of action.

#1 - I live in NY. This is the first I've heard of any of it, which means it's not as big of a deal as you all are making it.

#2 - You realize they arent building it AT ground zero right? It's 2 blocks away.

Land in NYC is hard to come across. It's replacing a Burlington Coat Factory thats been closed down for a while now.

Ok, ok, at least there won't be a McD's with a Ronald McDonald seated on a bench smiling with lifeless eyes fixed upon Ground Zero... (Did I do that right? Is "Ground Zero" a proper noun now?)

Actually I'm pretty sure theres a McDonalds and Burger King closer to Ground Zero than the Mosque would be.

As much as I don't care about building a mosque pretty much anywhere, I also am really turned off by the spite-mosque suggestions of some of the people here.

I thought I read somewhere that it would be opened on 9/11, but I could be wrong.

I thought one of the articles said the company left the building because landing gear from one of the planes crashed through the roof. But maybe I read it wrong. Or maybe they exaggerated. No matter, I guess.

But in-knee-weigh, I would have to agree with Darth Danno about the idea that if radical christians blew up some important building in ... I don't know... Iran lets say, and then some other group of christians went to build a church close to the Iranian ground zero, the muslim world would never let it happen and totally freak out.

But I can see how letting them build it would make us appear (in OUR minds anyway) to be better than the terrorists. But really, I'd rather be better by kicking the terrorist arses and bring them all to justice.

So we build the mosque, then how long before it's infiltrated by the extremists? And then how long before the gov't creates a pandemic to stem the terrorism? And then where will we get vaccines, because the short supply of vaccines only goes to gov't officials - the very ones who created the pandemic?

His strength as a troll lies in the fact that he is intelligent. This makes his trolling all the more ****ing annoying, because his posts are filled with all of the pompous douchebaggery of an art-gallery snob while at the same time they contain the repetitiveness and immaturity of a regular bridge troll.

We should build a church with missile launchers.

I only support the rebuilding of the World Trade Center if it comes with a really badass water slide that goes all the way from the top to the bottom.

I'll give even odds both of these rumors were started by people who want you to hate Muslims.

Let's see what Firefly skipper Hoban Washburn has to say about this.

"Do we care? Are we caring about that?"

Good question, Wash! No, we don't care. Those *******s can do whatever they want and think whatever they want on their own time. But we're America, and we do things our own way, without giving a **** what a bunch of backward religious radicals would do in our place.

As I understand it, we're already on that task. No reason we can't do both.

I'm confused. Was Ronald McDonald on one of those airplanes because there sure seems to be a lot of intolerance towards McDonald's being located too close to ground zero.
