If you believed otherwise, you would have compared Fox News (a fair and balanced network) to something not blatantly left leaning, shrugging MSNBC off entirely as not a valid point of comparison, which it isn't if it's the most obviously biased network and Fox News is obviously not, to any critical viewer.

I don't pay attention to CNN so I can't comment accurately on that. Again, an earlier point I made is not that bias bothers me, but when it is hidden. Fox and MSNBC don't hide their biases with regards to commentary. My experience with Fox hard news coverage is that it is fair and allows many voices on air. I don't know if MSNBC does any hard news coverage from personal experience. I know CNN does but I don't watch CNN so I can't comment on that. Still, Fox carries much more hard news coverage during prime time instead of complete biased commentary directed towards the right, at least compared to its "opposite" network.

Calling his flag ****ty will make that decision easier for him to make, so at least you're doing a good job deterring people from your views.

BTW, I quite like the US flag, it's certainly better than the borefests on a canvas that you and I have. :P

BRB - plotting against Krokodile for questioning the superiority of MY country.

While I think of practical ways of hurting him back, I'll be sitting here burning with hate, judgement, twisted ego, a sense of superiority straight out of the pits of hell, self-obsession, lost in my victim identity and entirely paranoid...

... in the meantime of course calling myself a decent, peaceful human being ;) ;)

I thought you were cheating by not posting the version of the flag I'm used to, until I looked up that the one you posted is actually more commonly used - that badass lion definitely elevates it to a high level of cool!

To those people burning it: It's just a book, what's the point?

To those people choosing to get "offended" by it being burnt: It's just a book, Grow up and get over it.

If people weren't so eager to get offended by such trivialities then they wouldn't bother doing it in the first place as they're doing it just to provoke a reaction.

The biggest issue i have with it is the criminal waste of paper and resulting atmospheric pollution.

If the report I heard was correct, he's burning about 200 books. That is a very small pile. I don't think it'd take much water (or better sand) to piss on his bonfire so to say.

Imagine a man with a small dumper truck just plopping a big bucket of sand on it, then merrily chugging away into the sunset smoking a fat cigar, his work complete.

They have a constitutional right to be stupid, and that includes the right to burn a holy book. To illustrate this right, I shall now practice it, and burn this copy of the book of mormon someone left in my door.

Really, it's not an issue of whether they should. If the government did anything at all to stop it, they would be violating the minister's rights.

You watch Fox. That explains a TON.

You realize that news "network" has been caught red handed lying outright in their headlines, lying in debates, lying about several issues, and spews total bull**** propaganda for their views only? Jon Stewart has a field day with them every night pretty much.

I, "like", completely understand that someone doing something so small on the opposite side of the world will have no effect on my life or what I'm doing unless I choose to take notice or take offence from it and therefore lend weight to the original action by letting it provoke a reaction in me.

And, no, I don't realize any of those things. Also, Stewart is a liberal comedian that does a news satire show. Of course he is going to have a field day with the only major news network that isn't liberal although it is good to see he's been picking on Barry more lately.

Yeah, he's been tearing MSNBC lately more than Fox. Fox is low hanging fruit, it's too easy.

Because as a New Yorker, I'm respectfully asking you to not stir up bull****. Like I've said before, there are much worse things much closer to the site. The majority of people complaining about this are NOT from New York, so **** off and mind your own business.

Well, the g/!! mosque is directly related to the proposed Quran burning. Also, America was attacked on 9/11 so many non-New Yorkers take related issues personally. If you're part of the minority of Americans, or New Yorkers for that matter, that has no problem with a mosque at ground zero that's fine and I'm not going to attack you for it.

This is a thread about a controversial issue. Controversial conversation is bound to follow.

Don't worry, we're cool. Sorry. ;)

I personally find the comments equally depressing when reading articles dealing with the "mosque" (community center in NY) and the Quaran burning. Even on liberal sites like CNN, you can still find comments where people say "Islam is the devil religion" or "Muslims need to be kicked out of our country."

I swear, reading YouTube comments and comments to most news article can make anyone's faith in humanity drop fast.

YOU were not attacked. People in New York were attacked. Many people died, lost relatives and friends, got ****ed over by that day in ways barely imaginable - YOU had nothing to do with it. Get your filthy fingers out of these people's losses!

If people would just understand this simple fact, these retarded attacks wouldn't have happened in the first place. YOU weren't inflicted injustice. *YOU* are the problem. There's too much of it. You are the exact same kind of ****ed up as those idiots flying into that building - you're simply less practical.

Eh... I don't know... it definitely seems like an attack on America. I mean it was specifically targeted at New York, but where do you draw the line? Does it pertain only to those who were in Lower Manhattan that day, or does all of New York count? If all of New York city counts then does all of New York state count? Like I said before, where exactly do you draw the line?
