Want to hear a real intellectual white rapper who actually brings a glimmer of hope to this genre? He's called Aesop Rock. Never won a grammy either, but certainly deserves one.

Oh jesus where do I start? Cripple from degrassi turned thug. what the **** is this autotuned garbage?

Adam Lambert
granted this kid can sing, but has become victim of american pop garbage thats quite forgettable. No one will remember him in 10 years.

B.o.B./Bruno Mars
Look mom, feel good autotuned music that 16-25 year olds can listen to while they go tanning! More of the same hyped up R+B pop bull**** that has pervaded the airwaves since the 2003.

Best Metal Performance
Ok, I get that everyone loves the oldies, but we have overlooked a whole genre that has exploded in the last 10 years, save Lamb of God, who in and of themselves are quite overrated when compared to other bands in their genre. (see: Killswitch Engage)

Best rap performance
Oh god don't even get me started on the horse **** they nominated.

Best rap album
Eminem? Again? Yay give it up for the guy who talks about rape-ing and murdering people on his CD. Over the Roots? Over Jay-Z? ****. Right. Off. I'm so sick of this douche I could puke.



Go ahead and flame and rant and say how I somehow think that everyone should have my opinion, because I know you will Emon, but SUBJECTIVELY look at the material nominated here compared to PLENTY of amazing other artists who were vastly overlooked in each of these genres, and your argument slowly starts to lose merit.

Also, I overexaggerated in my initial post about 90% of them being crap, just 90% of the categories listed are garbage. I was quite content with the Jazz nominations.

I don't know about that... I think the oldies still put out the best new music these days. The last 10 years in metal have kinda sucked, with the first 7 being the worst. If it wasn't for the guys back then sticking around and staying relevant, the genre would be further gone that it already is. True, alot has gotten looked over, but I think it's because 98% of these new bands coming out are clones of one another, just like the glam bands were in the 80's.

As for everything else though, I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head.

He is in between the two as far as being a legitimate artists.
