To be fair, he might also have meant withholding hundreds of thousands of paychecks from civil servants working through the shutdown. Those *****es had it coming.

The baffling thing is that any Republicans, other than a handful of brand names like Ted Cruz and Mike Lee who stood to gain enormous individual political capital at the direct expense of their party, ever thought this was a fight with a possible positive outcome for them.
