Why's it so quiet around here?

Sure. Case 1: You own JK. Case 2: You don't own JK. In either case you've posted at least one falsehood. :P

(Unless you bought it and forgot what it looks like?? Highly unlikely for a SW nerd like yourself!)

But yes, you're right: to find out if you really own JK, I don't think classical logic will be the best tool. Maybe some kind of Bayesian artificial intelligence.

Wookie, don't mind Antony. Give it a few months to acclimate yourself to his confrontational style of posting.

How the hell does a higher cable bill translate to more people exercising??

Do you even attempt to make an effort to comprehend anyone's posts or is this just how you blow off steam to prevent going off on co-workers? If it is condescending to suggest that those with opinions outside the norm here should be given a fair hearing and treated as well as they treat others here then, yes, I am a huge condescending prick. If you like to shut down discussion and drive people away, fine, I assume this place will continue down the same path. However, you do have a nice, small, tight group of regular members that seem to be generally in agreement on core values. I'm not judging if that's how you guys want this place to stay. I just thought most of you were confident enough to at least tolerate those with different opinions.

At no point does anyone have to be outside to exercise. This is as dumb as suggesting in the other thread that children are somehow better off if they play outside than they are if they play with electronics.

Not what my point was and oversimplified. Still, more truth in that notion than you realize.

Oh, I'm pretty forgiving of Antony actually.

I can tell you that generally high TV provider bills in general have led me to ditch them. Not doing anymore exercise either! That's on the list of things to work on still.

What on Earth are you talking about? What falsehood?

In another thread you said you owned JK. And that post was supposed to be fun.

Well of course I own Jedi Knight. What makes you think I claimed not to?

1. I go off on coworkers all the time.
2. Stop acting like a victim.
3. You're using the same type of logic one uses when they try to suggest that they're persecuted because they have some backward 1950s view of homosexuals. It's the "oh so if we're supposed to be so understanding and accepting of people, then why am I ostracized for my views?" It's a false equivalency. Please stop it.

Can Dick Cheney live a very healthy life without electronics, Reid?!
2014-05-24, 7:52 PM #94
Yeah I don't really know how one could draw the connection unless you assume that somehow using electronics makes you lazy or some other such 1980s grade lunacy. I use electronic devices all the time and did so during my upbringing as well. I also stay in good shape, but have a tendency to go off on people who are dumb and/or lazy, so that's probably somehow a result of my dad buying a SNES for me when I was a kid.

This thread's already got a fair share of Wookieing, Reidism, Goldosis and Antonytis.

Time to summon Sarn_Cadrill.

It's not so much that it's positive as that it isn't negative. The organizations and people that **** up the world are typically "productive." And contribute overmuch to depleting the earth's hydrocarbon bank account over frivolities. And they're the ones that push everyone to adopt a productivist attitude which does real harm to individuals.

What you've described does not prove that not being lazy can be a problem in itself. The problem you cite lies with the actions and intentions of those corporations and those people, with what it is they choose to invest their productive energy in, not with them being productive. Furthermore, ruining the world for everyone but those with specific corporate interests is actually not mutually exclusive with being lazy.

From an individual perspective I find that laziness is negative because it feeds on itself, making a person lazier and lazier, at the worst resulting in people not getting done the sort of things that would better their lives and make them happy. You may argue that some people will still be content and find meaning in things that come to them despite their lifelong passiveness, but I dare say that will not be most people.

Ps. there's a certain trait that contributes to people choosing not to bother trying to stop those corporations and people you talked about.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

If I had been lazy, I would have never finished TODOA and DXN.

If I had been productive, I would have finished TODOA in 2003 and DXN (or UNATCO Born) in 2004.

It's good when cancer cells are lazy, right?

Freelancer thinks that humanity is a cancer on the planet, and the best way to slow its growth is to starve it.

So do your part by being lazy, everybody! You're a cancer cell!

It's funny that you should phrase it this way, Wookie06, because a fair hearing is the literal opposite of what you want. The real reason you're complaining is because your opinions are put on trial here, and your convictions are so weak that you can't cope with it.

This is why I have always had so little respect for you, not because your opinions are different.
