Have you heard about Space Balls 2?

So honestly I hope Ep 9 features a return of the Death Star.
2019-05-19, 8:39 PM #163
why not the Cartesian product of all previous Death Stars?

the power set of death stars

All of these are great ideas. Just more Death Stars. It's just so epic and cool.

It seems to me that one criticism that some people were vocal about with Rogue One was too much fan service. I don't see that unless you mean by comparison to the sequel trilogy which had virtually no fan service whatsoever, at least up to this point. Keeping in mind how little fan service there was in TFA and TLJ I wonder what you think about this latest teaser trailer. Personally, I think it's disgusting. Now, I'm actually rooting for this next movie to be good (good in my opinion, that is) but I'm getting less and less optimistic about it.

The only part of that trailer that really gets anything out of me is the part when the lightsaber rEcOnFiGurEd, and just knowing that somewhere out there, thousands of people who should know better gasped orgasmically when it happened.

My general thought was that after lovingly showing some characters they spent the two previous films crapping over they then showed some shiny scenes that pretty much emphasized how far away they have gone from those characters.

Wookie I don't mean this offensively because everyone's always getting older all the time, but aren't you like twenty years older than most of us around here?

The contractually obligated third movie before the franchise shuffles off to TV will, I’m sure, attract some small audience.

I don't know but even if that's the case, which I planned for, it still fits. Pat is probably about ten years older than me. His other main minion is around ten years younger. I was born in 70. I'm guessing most of you were born fairly well before 90.

You're the exact same age as my eldest brother. Well, it's unlikely that you were born in the same month, but the year is the same. He also has a car (that's now just a heap of metal that he doesn't drive anymore) that was built in 1970. It's a Ford Cortina, one of the models that was never brought to Finland in bulk. I think his was made in the UK, it was being exhibited at a department store here in Helsinki, and the first owner (before my brother got it) bought it off the display.

Anyway, I'm a 1984er. But yeah, that makes sense what you said.

It feels like everything about this new trilogy, the hype and expectations, just petered out. Kinda sad, especially with the use of nostalgia in the beginning of the trailer to generate some sort of reaction.

The only reaction I saw to the ANH footage was "I'd like to see THAT movie!"

I hate it when they throw these wheeled vehicles into Star Wars or Star Trek where it's been well established for so long that vehicles that can hover are cheap and ubiquitous. Combine that with the fact that these fat tire bikes have a diving board launch function for jump-starting jetpack-wearing stormtroopers into the air... feels so overdesigned and goofy as ****. Maybe it's just not possible to be more subtle about trying to squeeze a few more lego sets and plushies out of the film.

I had the lego speederbike back in the day, of course, but those didn't feel so 'created to be a toy' as so many things from new Star Wars.

Almost certainly not, but at least this time they were smart enough to fire the director during preproduction, instead of after principal photography was done.

I can't wait for the new instalment of #StarWars! It's looking like the creative minds behind the franchise have put together the most exciting episode yet for us fans to enjoy. How will the journey of our familiar friends Rey, Finn and Poe conclude? What will become of Kylo Ren? I think there is still good in him...and what of the Emperor? The familiar menace is back, perhaps more sinister than ever!

Merry #StarWars and a happy new trilogy everyone! #December20

As much as I want to be excited for this movie, the last two were so terrible, it's hard to have any enthusiasm for it whatsoever.

My wish is that the movie opens with ghost yoda saying "A dream, those two movies were. **** for that, thank."

I like that Finn used to be part of the First Order and is surprised by jetpack wearing troopers. . . I thought being a catch all janitor/front line soldier/top secret weapons expert would allow him some access to info for something like that.

I've learned that, regardless what they call it, the Mandalorian uses that rifle from Jedi Outcast. Also, the exterior sand crawler level from Super Star Wars now makes sense. Finally, Lando's quasi love affair with his droid now makes sense too.

This is unrelated to Episode IX, but I just learned there will be a Disney+ series about Cassian Andor. That name didn't ring a bell for me so I looked it up and turns out it was Diego Luna's character in Rogue One.

After having miraculously survived his mission to retrieve the Death Star plans he learns of a new type of trooper that is threatening the Rebellion.
In season 2 he will find a lightsaber in his father's garage.

I went to see the movie and they weren't nearly as equivalent to Kyle Katarn and Jan Ors as I imagined from some of the talk around here.

I remember when we were speculating that Fores Whitaker's character would be Kyle Katarn.
