Most impressive. I don't care what those other punks say; this is really beautiful. I've actually attempted to build this ship twice... The first incarnation was the first serious level I ever worked on. It was scrapped for the most obvious of reasons, but I'd say it taught me a lot. I've completed a second one that seems to accurately represent all areas of the ship. (Aside from decks 1 and 4, the bunk decks) I'd really like to finish it, (just to complete the thought, so to speak) but it's unlikely I will due to the fact that the work of your team has put my petty attempt to complete and utter shame. It's cool, I've got other projects in mind. At any rate, I'd really like to talk to you about this sometime; it would benice to hear how you undertook some of the ship's quirkier architecture, like those evil doorways, the bizzare angles in the forward portion of deck 3, the transitions between the rectangular and cylindrical hallways, etc.
Anyway, since I guess I'm obligated to give some actual C&C, here goes: Overall, I really like the look of the level. I'd try to be critical about the added power of all the effects and what it might do to the framerate, but I'm sure you've already considered this. I've seen some commentary about the shape of the hallways- sure, there's some discrepancies, but I think it'll work. Cieling height looks good, but it's going to need to be that way to avoid camera bouncing. The width of the hallways doesn't exactly look true to the films, but I would argue against changing it, because that added floorspace is going to come in handy when there are multiple players on the map. Other than that, everything looks good, considering you're still in the process of completing the map. I really enjoy the shiny floors, and the lighting looks quite nice. The way the actual ship is designed leaves little room for nice effects in the main hallways, but I'm sure the other areas of the ship would be easily exploitable. At any rate, I'll be looking forward to what you come up with. Keep up the good work.
