This is a lightbeam that comes out. (The thing that apears odd in the JED shot.)

Just a note that these are not official JKR screenshots, as they don't appear in the JKR hub page. They're just xzero practicing being a bad level designer. [ZING]

I like some of that, but it's not really up to par compared to what I've seen of the models. I know it's wip though.
2005-09-15, 6:31 PM #46
looks pretty slick xzero. since that works not going to be in jk:r you should turn into a lone sp map.
Take that there and put it in here
2005-09-15, 6:36 PM #47
Hell no, make that a mp map and I'll love you forever! lol

The last update I'll be giving on this thread. Textures are for the sole benifit of distinquishing architecture. The models are in no way final (they still have to be approved). At any rate, here's the updated shot:

 YES!!!! :D

Awesomeness!

The textures on the buildings are pretty good actually!

The landing platforms are awesome, love the hanging cables. The platforms need those beacon lights though.

*geekgasms*

Is that a walking promenade behind those 'W'-shaped bars ('under' the landing platforms)? That'd be awesome!

Fantastic work, Capt, I just hope you don't plan on too many avinues like coruscant: This place isn't all that commercial or whatnot. This does, however, look a lot like one of the concept sketches I showed you...

But this area close to the pads could have a canteena for the pilots and some grafitti walls, etc. right? The rest could be more industrial... just my opinion.

I think there should also be those catwalks, you know, the ones you see in the flyby-intro to the vertical city. Good for saberduelling!

Not really. Maybe for crappy compys, yeah, but it should run smoothly in SITH2, and maybe a little laggy in JK.

I hate to disappoint you, but sith2 already runs laggy on my comp with just plain ol' nar terminal. :p

Bevvil that's incredible! That's almost as good as Sine's Nar level for JO, IMO.

Textures look like crap times 2.

Sith2 runs plenty fast. It should be many times faster than JK if you have the special effects garbage disabled. For example, I get 675 fps in nar shaddaa loading terminal in sith2 vs 400 in jk...and that is without any of the JKR resources. JKR models will bring jk to its knees...switching to 3rd person in JK, with the new kyle model, drops the framerate to 230. Sith2 just gets down to 630...what does this mean? It means sith2 renders faster, and scales better for high detail models. A few JKR player models on an average computer could make JK unplayable, but it should be no problem in Sith2. And, Sith2 will only be getting faster.

The textures are crap but it looks suprisingly good in despite of that.

Those new shots of Nar are hot, although it's strange because they seem based off of Sine's Nar (that's not a bad thing) but in a crappier graphics engine.l

1.8ghz, 512mb ram, GeForce FX 5200 :P

HL2 (at 800x600 with everything on low) runs better than Sith2 (at 1024x768) at this point. :( And HL2 has nicer GFX. Hopefully the team'll go around and optimize stuff at some point.

The id guys are immortal gods of optimization.

MZZT - if you're still using the build I sent you, it doesn't accurately reflect the current state of the Sith 2 art anymore.

wow, um, RN2804. don't bash id. seriously. that's not cool.
