Blue should stay. It fits with the imperial theme.

But the texture for the middle part seems too busy to me. The texture on the 3 "boxes" is divided into 4 distinct horizontal layers. Maybe reduce it to 3?

yeah, it shouldnt take 40 different plates just to make one side of a box, plus that texture doesnt really tile the best.

That blue will look horrible in the deasert.
And any levels that use the turrent better hope your silly tall design doesn't clip with the level archi.

I love it; I always favor the JKE models that deviate from the original look. I only hope that the laser doesn't look like it's coming from its midsection.

Shred: I too, want the skirt back on the medbot. I thought it was very Star Wars, personally. I would just take away the two middle parts of that turret model, re-proportion the top and bottom parts, and use that. It'll look PERFECT that way. You've already done it justice by making the barrels look like they'd release all that dangerous ow-causing gas and plasma. I have to agree with those who say the simple look fits with the Imperials. Most of their stuff is purely utilitarian looking.
