Do you realize how this site could be? I occasionally glance at other sites, and it disgusts me, how pathetic, ignorant, and offensive other forums are. I don't think I'd visit massassi if 'gay' wasn't banned, as I take a serious offense to it. Maybe that's me being a sensative american, but either way, it's unenjoyable for me, so I'd leave. I assume brian wants a site full of people, not a site with 40 members who do nothing but call eachother gay, retarded, and every cuss you can muster up.

It's about the ONLY website where I can opinionate about things without being told my opinion is wrong and being banned for disagreeing with the website's administration. Seriously, go try and post a SAJN_Master-ish thread at any other forum about corrupt ops, and they'll ban you. Massassi is a wonderful place, and as long as you keep reasonably respectful with other people, you'll be absolutelly fine.

On a final note: Get over yourself, and leave if it bothers you that much, otherwise... deal with it. Seriously, you may think that's ignorant, but this ISN'T a public place, it's a private forum. It's a privilage.

How about having avatars placed by that admins where only they can change them and there is a submission form opr something.

Or there would be a site similar to the image corner where only images of a certain size (both kb and pixels) would be posted and the avatars would come from there. Also, no animated gifs would be accepted to keep the loading times to a minimum.

Alpha, your idea for the avatars (only placed by admins) wouldn't work. User titles were supposed to be exclusive too, and look at everybody who has them.

Very truthfully, I love these forums. For most of the reasons said above. I tried to be on the JKII.net forums or wahtever, and all it was was flaming. I fyou posted something new, it would get to the 8th page in about 3 minutes. Nothing you said realy mattered. At least here, even if people don't agree with what you say, at least you get your idea out (and then it will proceed to be shot down into the ground).

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned before but the word "retard", according to the dictionary, means "To cause to move or proceed slowly; delay or impede". It does NOT mean people with down-syndrome - that is only the slang usage of the word. Calling people with down-syndrome "retarded" is flat out insulting and people really need to stop assuming that the word retard means someone with that disorder.

what i ment was that the users ask admins for a certain avitar and if approved, it is given to them by the admins.

also, i do think that area of stored avitars with automated restictions would work better, as then it would just require a report abuse click to point out a questionable avatar image.

yes, but most people are smart enough to figure out what meaning is being used. it is pretty damn obvious that when someone says "this thread is retarded", they are refering to the slang insult as if it was the other meaning, it would mean that more topics are being made than posts in that thread so it is being held back from view.

Okay. Let me explain this in other terms.

Massassi is a democratic dictatorship; we, as users, have a say in things as long as Brian says we do. Should Brian decide not to do as we wish, or take away this privilege[/i], there's nothing we can do about it. He's not doing this for personal profit (outside of saying to future employers: "Look what I did!"), he wasn't elected into this position. His position as site owner does not rely upon the wishes of the people. Were we all to leave, you know what'd he have? A site that's still presentable to future employers. It's purely on his whims (and the fact that he's a nice enough guy) to not close down the forums.

You're mistaken when you think that you have any form of God-given or legally-enforced right to have a say in how things are run here. It's not what you think he should and should not do. It's what he can do and how we cannot do anything about it.
