Making radical statements encourages thought. Coulter doesn't really believe many of the things she says, such as conversion to Christianity via the sword, she just says them to induce rage and laugher among her varied audience.
I, for example, find her extremely hilarious. One must simply keep in mind that she speaks with tongue in cheek. Yes, she advocated the invasion of countries that rejoice in the death of Americans, and the assassination of world leaders who promote terrorism. The way she said it, it's less hate speech, and more simply suggesting a necessary course of action in coarse and humorous terms.
Perhaps this is hard to explain, seeing as how my own sense of humor is decidedly warped and offensive to many. I enjoy laughing at the inferiority of countries that aren't America, not because I hate all non-American countries, but simply because many people are upset by it, which makes me smile. And most non-American countries hate America, so I don't care what they think anyway.
