How am I a hypocrite? I never said my country was better than anyone elses, nor did I imply, or state that I thought I was better than anyone else. I simply stated what is apparent throughout the rest of the world based on the wide opinions of a hell of a lot of people, and what a lot of people have to go through because they are american when they travel.

Don't you think someone's race has a big influence on what they think, say, and do??? It definitly does! So in that case discriminating based on race has basis too. Except for the fact that a stereotype (no matter how true it could be in some cases) does not actually represent the individuals, so it DOES NOT HAVE BASIS. You call discriminating based on culture understandable since culture influences the person, but so does race, in a big way, so by your logic they are both understandable. How is an Anti-American who hates americans because they are ignorant, and arrogant lazy pigs, any better then a nazi who hates black people because they are lazy gangster criminals? Neither of the stereotypes is an accurate representation of everyone in the group so they are both just as wrong...

Race can pertain to more than ethnicity. It can be nationality as well.

Tell me how the colour of someone's skin affects their behaviour in anyway.



If you want to get into semantics, that's fine, yes, it can technically mean nationality, but in this context, the most common use of "racism" and "race" do not fit. (But yeah you're right, I shoulda been more specific I guess)

Yes, racism has almost overwhelmingly meant discrimination against a particular [ethnicity]. If someone said "racism" you would attach that definition to it. I'm just pointing out that just because a word has a predominate meaning doesn't mean it is the only one.

That's what I was saying chief. The affect that your culture has on your behaviour is quite clear, whereas I think people would be hard pressed to prove any connection between race and the opinions, actions, values, and thoughts of a person. True, many people of a certain race may belong to a particular culture, but associating them is ignorant. Discrimination for any reason is wrong, but if you're going to do it, at least do it for a justifiable (if not just) reason.
