Another levee just broke open. According to the news here the French Quarter and most of the city is going to be about 26ft under water by midnight.
I always think it's a bit odd to read the begining of these threads and then look at how completely wrong the information is.
Last I heard, which was like 30 minutes ago on CNN, the guards lost control of the crowd at the super dome and people were just fleeing from it into the water. It said the relief workers were hoping the people would have enough sense to come back when the buses come for them later on tonight.
I've been to New Orleans twice, and I can honestly say it was one of the coolest cities around. It's definately in the top three of all the places I've been. That includes LA, New York, London, Canterbury, Orlando, Atlanta, Peurto Rica, Mexico, Jamacia, the Bahamas. I was thinking about moving there to become a musician. I suppose that isn't much of an option any more.
