Sony had a good standing with the PSX that carried right over to the PS2. It will be similar with success of the PS2 carrying over to the PS3.

Actually, it was the fact that the PS2 had a DVD player that killed the Dreamcast. Sega's advertising campaign was pretty strong.

Hahahaha. No. It was the advertising campaign...not to mention Sega had a horrible one for its own console. There were almost no posters/commercials until it was already out.

Sony was always all over the airwaves with game ads. Sega's were few and far between.
