Not really. Target the scrap heap and Levitate, then target the TIE and Push like in JK.

Did anyone notice that the stormtrooper was part of the debris thrown at the tie fighter?

Dammit, I'm getting excited...

Watching it again it looks even worse than before. Nowhere in the movies did Jedi(or Dark Jedi) act this way. They're really breaking away from the Force mythos and making it look like Dragonball Z.

I was reading up on this in a magazine when i was on vacation in England 2 weeks ago. Its supposed to be set during the purge, and vader is apparently supposed to be involved in some way shape or form (but i don't know much more than that).

I like it. Something new could be refreshing, and I've always wanted to see a dark, gritty Star Wars game, where pure evil can take form in total abuse of powers, as seen in that movie.
DO NOT WANT.

At least they don't stand around for 16 seasons before actually fighting.

Further information may determine which of the next-gen consoles I purchase. And before I saw this, I was dead set on getting a 360 because of Mass Effect.

It's more along the lines of what some of the novels exhibit. I agree it's a bit Dragonballish, and that it looks like the Jedi may be too powerful. But then again..."the ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force." I don't see what's so unbelievable, although it has some nasty gameplay implications, especially multiplayer.

It is also a previs, and probably just meant to grab people's attention. Hard to tell really.

Well judging by the stormtrooper was screaming and begging for his life while being smacked onto the ground and into walls and stuff, it seems like this may be the first star wars title to earn the mature rated title.

Nah, it doesn't have blood or gore so I don't think they could do that. Commander, I believe Palpatine took out a fleet of x-wings by having this huge electric storm (think psionic storm taking out a fleet of carriers or cruisers in starcraft).

I'm sad now.

Still, if they're thining about it, they might pull off something like it. I hope so, because I really, really want a lightsaber swinging game on the Wii.

So sue me, I like Jedi. ;)

LucasArts could pull something sweet like that. But then again, its LucasArts.

I thought that much was pretty obvious, especially by the end of the clip.

Did you see Revenge of the Sith? There is almost nothing in that video that wasn't done in the final battle between Yoda and Sidious.

[with one or two noteable exceptions, but you can't say it isn't feasable they could have done that in the movie.]

Yoda and Sidious weren't "impacting" the ground with thier lightsabers causing massive shockwaves, nor were they instantly destroying everything around them with force energy.

Where exactly does it say that a Star Wars game cannot be creative and include new content that wasn't explicitly shown in the movies?

I thought it looked pretty bad actually. The animation was really jerky and unconvincing.

Actually I agree with Numbarz. For a tech demo I think it could've been better.

It's not a tech demo. Is this really hard for you to grasp?

No, but did you? He said it was a tech demo. Click the link. It's NOT. It's a previsualization of what the force powers MIGHT look like. For all we know, it's running on a complete game engine or was entirely prerendered in a professional modeling suite. This is not a technology demo.

EDIT: Alright, I see what you mean. However, I think the words "pre-rendered" goes not just for the force powers, but for pretty much everything else in that vid.

:psyduck:

Did you READ the page? It does not say tech demo! A tech demo is where one shows off technology. This is previs of how force powers might work on a next gen console. We don't know WHAT it's running on. It's basically concept art in real time.
