this is why you go to the bank frequently.

and dont approach gangs to eliminate them with any white boarder at all. if you just get near them and sit in your car without guns, it'll go away. also alway remember to pay off your heat (even if you have to cheat)

It annoyed the piss out of me, too.
Easily the hardest:

The stupid organ inside the shuttle in Myst. ESPECIALLY if you are 9 years old and have no music talent whatsoever yet.
I spent days on that. Literal... DAYS. Eventually I got a tape recorder simply so I could play those same notes over.. and over.. and over again before I could finally get the right tone. That.. was insane.

On a side note.. My most frustrating level when I was younger was in the original sonic with any underwater/lava mission. Or in the Lion King with the boulder level(which eventually was superseded by the gazelle level).

More recently, I think the most frustrating level for me was that engine explodey level in Halo. That friggen jump...

I had that problem too but I could *never* get the door to work. I actually was never able to beat the game because of that :(

and I dunno how come you guys had such a hard time with The Falling Ship in JK. Even if you go the long way you can get through. it's bloody annoying sometimes because the gravity is messed but it's not that hard.

and I agree there were a couple hard missions in the original Rogue Squadron too. Those escort missions. Bad days.

Not only is it downright terrifying to an 11-year-old (those damn dianagas), but I couldn't figure out how to make the final jump in that level - the one that leads into the final chamber. I didn't realize you had to make a running jump---the thought just never occured to me.

You beat me to it. To this day, I still have not finished Anoat City.

Also any part of FarCry in which you had to listen to recommendations from Doyle or Valerie on what you should do next. Friggin' morons.

My god, that is so freaking unbelievably lame. There are so many awesome GTA mods. GTA on the pc without mods is only half a GTA, if that.

Because of the hot coffee debacle, Rockstar crippled the mod capabilities of SA, meaning that mods and most trainers will not work.

Definitely an overcompensation for a problem that wasn't that big of an issue in the first place.

The original Prince of Persia had some really tough levels. At least, they were tough when I was 10.

And I don't mean Sands of Time you hosers.

Also Marble Madness was pretty tough for the PC. I tried the Genesis, or maybe it was the NES version a while back, and it was stupidly impossibly hard.

Ditto on the Marble Madness. That was one of the first games I ever played and I always got suck at the same place every time.

The end of Far Cry with all the rocket launcher mutants in the volcano caldera. I never got past that until I looked up a walkthrough and discovered the secret ( push something under the blast door to prevent it from closing so you can get back into the armoury )

And of course the JK falling ship level; I beat it once by sheer luck and have never been able to repeat it.

That part in JO where you're riding a tram/transport thing when a stormtrooper starts firing rockets at you and destroys the tram and you have to leap along the wall. That had me going insane.

And the volcano level in Rogue Squadron when you're in a Y-Wing. That level was made with one goal: to frustrate the player.

I love the water dungeon in ocarina of time. The only one I don't like is the last one, but not because it's hard; it's just boring.

As for hard levels... Ninja Gaiden. The original, on the NES. The whole damn game. The xbox version barely even touches on the difficulty of the original, and it's damn hard itself.

There's a mission in Tie Fighter where you go out against a minefield of fifty some mines in an interceptor, and have to take them all out, and then kill a bunch of other interceptors.

Another mission in Tie Fighter where you have to take out a couple squadrons of y-wings before they destroy some capital ship. I never could beat that one, even with the built-in cheat codes.

A mission in Rouge Squadron II where you had to take out a VSD before it captured a corvette. A b-wing. Vrs a star destroyer. What were they thinking?

The final boss of dead or alive 3. The guy should be a pushover, except the camera angle is all messed up and every time he hits the ground you get knocked down too. It's not at all like the rest of the game which is, actually, you know; GOOD.
Wikissassi sucks.

I guess it was easy for me because I got a lucky guess on the right direction the first time, and just stood with that all the other times I beat JK. :\

Levels from the nes megaman series, and even from the megaman x series later on when bosses were insanely hard and had a really small weak spot. Sigma was especially hard in x3 I thought, and the levels where if you don't do just the right key strokes you would be crushed between walls closing in.

Why don't you try it on easy? Unlike a lot of people I thought the beginning levels of jo were fun since they felt kinda dark forceish (a little bit), and after you beat those levels it made you like the lightsaber even more.

The grand prix in F-Zero GX.

I can't count the number of times I tried that level. Once.. I came in .3 seconds behind first...

I still don't know how my controller survived that.

Jesus I hated that. I did it, but it was certainly not fun at all.
The only one I hate now is either the 1st or 2nd mission in Max Payne 2. It's the one where you're helping the Russian mobster. It probably isn't even THAT hard, but I've lost all patience for computer games.

The trick was that you could push the rockets. But you had to be alert. Once you got out, it just wasn't hard it was just..tedious. I hated that part too.

Whaaaat? The ones that really pissed me off were MM2 Quick Man stage with the beams that killed you. MM2 1st Wily Stage were you had to use item 1 to get to the ladder. MM3 2nd Needle Man stage where you had to use Rush Jet. Other than that, they were cake. Some of the bosses were tough, yes.

The last section of the main quest in Oblivion cause it's a frikkin' ESCORT mission!
I honestly love the game but the main quest, while it had some good parts, just kinda sucked.

EF's forge boss was a pain.

The last boss in Beyond Good and Evil is very similar aswell, I still haven't beaten him yet.

And I may be the only one but always had a terrible time with Gorc and Pic. I did beat them a couple times but they were so hard that I just skipped it most of the time.

Also, three words- Halo, Library, Legendary.

Oh, and Tavion in JO. I couldn't believe how tough she was for me to beat.

And the final mission of the Undead campaign in Warcraft III, Under A Burning Sky. That was hard. And this one Night Elf mission in The Frozen Throne where you have to take a bunch of guys through a forest to get to a base that is being attacked from everywhere. And the worst part is that you have control over that base, so you have to multitask a huge amount.

I remember the the very last time you cross into Oblivion, one of the guys I was supposed to protect kept leaping into the lava and for some reason I remember he had an important item that I wanted (needed?).
Anyway, no matter what I did, every time I loaded from my save point, he would eventually leap into the lava and die. I had to restart that from really far back in order to keep him from killing himself.
2006-10-27, 11:46 PM #120
Well, I finally did it. It took about 30 tries, but I did it. I think I found the sweet spot where you have to drive the motorcycle so Smoke can hit those guys. It took a long time to get there, but i think that getting my motorcycle skill up helped, too.

since i had all the other missions done at that point, once i finished the smoke missions I got my game back to where it was before, except now, everything works. My most recent save was right after the first catalina mission.

(I did the Local Liquor store-- those ATVs are very twitchy and handle poorly but I think it's impossible to roll them to the point where they blow up like other cars. I found it was easier to just follow the guys until they got to their trailers and just cap them on foot.
