Probably his gravely, gruff voice that makes it sound like you might catch something from breathing the same air as he.

At least it makes it that much harder to identify him. Better than Superman's prescription disguise.

Seeing it again today, this time in IMAX. I'll try to settle this Scarecrow controversy once and for all.
If you think the waiters are rude, you should see the manager.

There's controversy about the Scarecrow? He's only in the movie for like 2 minutes.

That's the controversy. People are insisting that he shows up again later in the movie.

Well those people would be liars. Unless he has a small cameo on the prisoner ferry but I watched closely the second time and didn't see anything.

My wife insists that Dent/Two-Face says something to him (in a van???), but I think she's lost her mind.

I meant the second time I watched it, which was Saturday. This isn't the only forum where that has come up.

I saw it last night.

There was a fat girl in the back corner who yelled out everything important in the movie before it happened, such as who Batman saves and the boats.
It took a while for you to find me; I was hiding in the lime tree.

I have proposed a new law that allows you to shoot people like that without warning

My conclusion as well. Obviously people are seeing the guy in the ambulance with the Rachel Dawes nametag and thinking it's Scarecrow.

Speaking of Batman's voice, I don't see why so many people have a problem with it. Like Wolfy said, at least he disguises his voice compared to other superheroes. Still I guess it can be amusing in some ways...

i seriously was just in an hour long conversation with kirby about the awesomeness of The Dark Knight in person with a group of people

i think we covered everything in the movie

I spent 10 tired minutes typing it, and then it accidentally got closed behind QMP because it died as I tried to close it.

I'll type more up later.

My favorite shot was the upside down joker.

Oh and also, did Bruce say that Wayne Manor was on the Palisades?

Um, there's a million cities that have a Palisades...

And Cloud, that was seriously awesome.

Yeah it was pretty amusing. The guy that plays the Joker there was pretty good. Until he started speaking, I thought it was fan footage of Batman spliced with real footage of the Joker from the film.

Well his voice is off, but he has the attitude and mannerisms down pretty well. And the makeup.

I thought his voice was great.

I think it's funny when he's talking to someone who knows his identity in his "disguised" voice.

Hah yeah I noticed that too. That was one problem I had with the film, it would have been nice to see him talking in his real voice when he is talking to people who know that batman = bw

wait, are you two talking about batman or joker?
I thought we were talking about joker.

We two are talking about Batman. I skimmed past the post that said Joker.

After seeing again, I'm in love with the idea that everything Joker does is to prove a point
-Bank heist - prove that the mob's money isn't safe
-Killing Gamble - revenge for calling him crazy (don't call Joker crazy)
-Kidnapping and killing the impersonator batman/game of Mr. Reese's life for the hospital - Batman can't protect you citizens of Gotham, just give him to me (and the with the Reese one he let the people of Gotham in on the game)
-Getting captured and blowing up the MCU - I can figure out your plans and defeat them/i need the Lao because he's a squealer/i need to tell this to Batman
-Rachel/Harvey choice/Freeing Harvey - The police are corrupt, too
-Burning money - i don't care about money
-Boat Choice - Prove to Batman about how people turn on each other given the choice (despite giving them no choice)

I can't help but be intrigued by this film, auuugh

I really liked this movie. Vastly preferred it to Iron Man, which disappointed me. Ledger was excellent. Batman's voice is hilarious also

Did Lao get burned at the top of the money pile near the end? I remember seeing someone tied up at the top there but it didn't seem like they really followed up on that when he set it on fire
2008-07-26, 11:37 PM #157
yes that was Lao, it bugged me too that the just showed him there without making mention of who it was. the first time i saw it i thought it was just some henchman of Joker sitting up there who eventually jumps off

There's a production shot that shows the actual body burning in a pulled-back shot. Maybe they had more shot of the scene but didn't show it in order to insure a less harsh rating.
