What kind of crappy software company blocks sites from their software developers? I've literally never worked anywhere where they blocked anything from the internet.

Anyway.

Rules : Make any sort of level/map for JK, MOTS, JO, or JA. If you don't have all those games well then you suck, go cry in a corner.
Submit it before whatever the deadline is.
Everyone who submits gets to vote somehow.
Winner gets mad props.

So what's a good deadline then? It has to be soon, so people don't all put if off until the last minute. But not too soon, so there's enough time to actually make something.

Hah, sort of. The C++ portion of our product is old MFC code. We are gradually transitioning to C#. The actual product itself is pretty awesome.

The problem is not my company, the problem is that we are owned by United Technologies Corporation, and it's a hardline corporate policy to go through their proxy, and thus their firewall. We have no choice in the matter.

They SYSTEM of voting is up for debate. Doesn't need to be 'vote for the best'.

There's a good reason for having entrants vote : It means we don't need some panel of judges who can't enter.

Here's how I see it working. Each entrant will score each entry except their own on a scale. Overall highest scoring gets mad props. So if you like two maps a lot, you don't have to pick just one : Rate them both 10. It also means you can't unduly influence the outcome by rating everyone 0. (You can't rate yourself, so all you really manage by being a complete dick is invalidating your own vote.)

Councillor Grismath the Fair proposes Oct 31st. No Halloween theme necessary.

*re there restrictions on recycling assets? E.g. I think using existing 3dos, cogs, etc is ok, but adding one room to an almost-done level is not.

One month is totally not enough, especially for SP. I think the beginning of the new year is a reasonable deadline. That's two months.

I'd love to participate, as I'm very very close to the end of jk1, but I broke my right hand which makes it nearly impossible to edit. In 6 weeks I'll be healed, so if I can still have time to participate after the 6 weeks...

Whenever. Right now it looks like Nove31st is the consensus. Emon want's longer but Grismath cancels him out.

So here's what everyone needs to do.

-Start a JKHub project as soon as you have something to show off.
-Post shots as you go along in the showcase thread I am about to create.
-Be ready to upload it to JKHub on or around Dec1st because seriously are we going to be anal retentive about some silly deadline? No, we aren't.

Also you should get started. I'm starting now. Somebody should tell the steam forums about this.
