No it's not just a redhead thing, it's women. I met this girl, we hit it off, she never told me about her boyfriend who lives with her (they didnt sleep in the same bed for 8 months). We hook up, she breaks up with him and kicks him out.. however (comma) apparently he is still in the "move out" stage and is whining and complaining about his life but that's ok it just makes me look that much better of a person since my life is actually somewhat together.

This is incredibly unwise. When someone cheats on you, just remember the golden rule, and how you're about to break it. You won't have any right to complain.

What? He isn't cheating. She's the one cheating... he's done nothing wrong. Whether she cheats on her boyfriend has nothing to do with him. If Antony doesn't sleep with her, someone else will. He may as well get the fun of it.

Also have you ever seen a chick flick? The girl meets "Mr. Right" about a month before she's about to get married to some complete jerk... who does she end up with?

Freelancer, you forget that I haven't had a legitimate relationship in several years because it's not worth the hassle. I end up getting pissed off and just not talking to them anymore, until I get bored and or drunk, that is.

Okay.. so you're fine with hurting your credibility. That's fine. But the thing you forget is it's not all about you. There are three people involved in the equation.

The thing you forget is that I don't care about the personal happiness of someone I've never even met. And I know that the redhead is just a crazy ***** who does whatever she wants.

Golden rule: because you'd rather have your cheating girlfriend sleep with a random dude than someone she knows and trusts.

Yeah but it's a chick mentality thing. Some girls will stay in an unhappy relationship because they don't want to be single and move on when they find someone else. For some reason cheating is less slutty than being single and having a one night stand.

That's a really weak rationalization. Let's even forget for a moment that the first statement cannot be proven.

This just makes you selfish and unprincipled, as well as directly hurting another person pretty severely through your actions. By claiming that 'it would have been someone else,' you are just trying to dodge responsibility for your actions. No, you are the one who enabled this to happen. Stop trying to appear noble and just admit that you aren't.

So you honestly think that a girl who says "get me alone and "**** my brains out." to someone who isn't her boyfriend is likely to remain loyal to said boyfriend if Antony declines? She's obviously not happy in the relationship.

That's not the point. You don't own her actions. Only your own.

The point is that you withhold sex from the crazy chick until she properly ends her relationship (that is — if you're not so disgusted by her behavior that you never want to see her again) thereby reducing the hurt to the fellow by quite a bit.

Except she probably won't. By the sounds of it, it's sex she's after, not Antony in particular. She'll more than likely just find someone else who will help her cheat... the hurt to the guy will be the same.

"the hurt to the guy will be the same"

Not really the point, either. Besides being unprovable, it's you who will have to live with unleashing that hurt. Otherwise, you wouldn't have to deal with it at all. If you have no empathy, which is apparently the case with Antony, then this line of reasoning would naturally have no effect.

Edit:

Yes, I'm kinda aware that my argument is hopelessly Kantian in nature (ie, relies on everyone acting on the same principles to carry out a desired result). If everyone behaved how I have outlined, then she wouldn't be able to hurt the guy in that way. However, there is a personal benefit aspect to my argument as well — which is not giving your conscience a reason to fuss. And an altruistic one, in not being accessory to breaking up a relationship/hurting someone. So yes, I'm aware that in the raw utilitarian, practical sense, there's most likely going to be one outcome.

Perhaps then, what Antony and myself lack in empathy we make up for in getting laid. Antony has no agreement with the guy about who he can/cant sleep with. The girl does. She is the one breaking that boundary.

Isn't it Antony's duty, though, to accelerate the demise of a clearly doomed relationship? The longer it takes the more it's going to hurt.

By showing a lack of regard for the sanctity of that agreement, you are weakening the trust others place in you concerning similar agreements.

Another weak argument. While true that persisting in a mediocre relationship doesn't do anyone any favors, it's silly to compare it to the hurt of being cheated on. The hurt would clearly be far less if the relationship is ended before any sex takes place, because there is no longer any expectation of exclusivity.

Yes, but I hate relationships and have no interest in ever having a serious relationship. I don't care about the sanctity of the agreement.

If anyone tries to deter you from sweet sweet love they are either jealous, not getting any themselves, or both.

This girl has a bf and yet still is willing to preform the mattress mambo? Well I think you need to create a reason for those two to separate. For the boyfriends sake. :)

Oddly enough, every redhead man I've met or seen has a beard.
