That new Krayt dragon sound is ****ing retarded. Sounds like one of my friends shouting while I'm tripping out on acid. Absolutely retarded.

now it sounds like obi-wan is just walking up and someone off camera is getting a blowjob behind a rock

i'm cancelling my preorder... Lucas has finally crossed the line with the changes

Haven't they changed the Krayt Dragon yell before? In any case, the new one sounds quite lame.

Also, if I've read these things correctly (that is, the information they had on this set about 3 months ago), the fancy pants extras are included only in the Full Saga set so you'd be "forced" to get the prequel trilogy as well, rather than the OT BluRay set including the extras related to the said trilogy. I guess Lucas really can tug some nerdstrings. I think I'll wait out on this release, though, considering those "limited edition" OT DVDs are still being sold around here after, what, 5 years?

CGI Ewok eyes too, which I'm not too opposed to. Subtle changes aren't that bad.

I'm trying to say this and appear like I haven't already revealed my "lucas wtf are you doing" cards, but is it just me or does the Ewok look MORE creepy now that it blinks.

I don't mind the Ewoks blinking that much. The Obi-Wan siren....kind of sounds stupid, but I'll get over it. But the Vader's "NOOOOOO!!", oh my god...I thought that was fake, but now it's confirmed to be real?! Why does Lucas keep on making these changes...
2011-09-01, 8:24 PM #93
i'm praying to every god EVER that the confirmation of the changes by Lucasfilm are the result of some misunderstandings

i would just barely be able to tolerate the sound of a tard's orgasm but not the "no"

Pretty much my thoughts as this mess has unraveled.
"Cool, they re-did the sabers!"
"Ok, I can see why they would re-place puppet Yoda with CG. No big deal"
"The Ewoks blink now. looks fake, whatever, I'll live."
"Ob-Wans Krayt Dragon noise sounded fine before, what is this I don't even"
"Great, another trilogy ending with Vader yelling 'Noooo!' **** this!"

I canceled my order. My need for money beats beaten nostalgia once again.

i've also canceled my preorder... i even made a note on my reason for canceling "Because George Lucas should know damn well when to just leave **** alone."

star wars was on my list of movies i would buy the second they hit bluray, i preordered the day it went up on amazon, and now the line has been crossed with just how much GL can dick with the movies before i just say "**** this bull****" and not buy it again

That doesn't even make sense. What would he be saying "no" to? Might as well add the scream at the end of ESB back.

When they don't sell well, george lucas will probably throw a ****fit about: People not understanding his "True Vision(TM), or piracy.

You're kidding yourself if you think they won't sell well.

Actually, I don't know if they will sell all that well. Not just for this reason though. I think the average consumer will have a hard time justifying yet another copy, in bluray, and the fanboys obviously hate the changes. Sure, it won't be a complete flop, but I don't see it selling like crazy.
2011-09-02, 9:41 AM #100
if anything i see the separate PT/OT sets selling better than the big set since buying the 2 sets is $10 cheaper (though you don't get all the extras... but the people who want the extras enough to justify spending the extra $10 are the same people who are canceling their preorders)

The stupid changes are being pretty well publicized. I know it will still sell pretty well, but I imagine the sales are going to take a substantial hit.

Honestly the reason I ordered it in the first place was for the deleted scenes. But the day this comes out those scenes will probably be on youtube. With all of the continuing changes I'm surprised he doesn't just remake all of the movies.
Hopefully if it comes to that he'll call J.J. Abrams.

by the time lucas is done making changes the damn family guy star wars episodes will be closer to the originals than his own revised editions

btw an interesting article you may have already read http://www.movieline.com/2011/09/1988-george-lucas-would-totally-hate-2011-george-lucas.php

I share the same exact thoughts as you. Guess I'll wait for this set to go on a major sale or something (kind of like how I received the LotR EE Blu-Rays for free by accident from Overstock).

Since we're ruining the movies with new voice lines, I figured we'd reflect on some old ones with some amazing impressions (not ALL are perfect, but most are damn good, and the animal ones are the best). Oh, and Anakin Skywalker is the best of the set.

Mine arrived yesterday (a whole week before the Americans get it :D). I had tried to cancel the order because I didn't like the changes, but I was too late.

Only watched TPM so far, but it looked nice. The only change I noticed was the (much improved) CGI Yoda.

Also watched the deleted scenes for the original trilogy. They're not that great to be honest, most are just extensions of existing scenes. It was interesting to finally see though the Biggs scene from ANH and more wampas in TESB, I'd first read about these years ago but hadn't seen them until now. The best deleted scene is the one from RotJ where Luke builds his green saber, I wouldn't have objected to it being entered into the film to be honest (it's a very slick transition from Death Star II to Tatooine).

We should have this domain renamed to Deep Space Ten or something

They've made a positive change to Attack of the Clones at least: You can now hear Shmi screaming in agony over Anakin's wet dream, it's no longer anywhere near as randomly hilarious.

Couldn't notice any changes whatsoever to Revenge of the Sith.

Might start with the classic trilogy tonight.
