Ben Shapiro and TheReportOfTheWeek are Dualistic Harbingers of the Apocalypse

I don't know why I do either. I think it is indicative of a deep dissatisfaction with the world that I live in whose only outlet is to ironically wallow in it. But I'm so sincere about it it is no longer ironic.

You know what else sucks? People who support and celebrate a political figure who publicly endorses child sexual abuse.

I gotta admit, I kind of relished watching the Floridian discuss the finer points of Domino's pizza, but I had to stop because the self-loathing became too much...

Edit: to clarify, my own self-loathing. Not sure about him (or what motivates a man to review fast food on a weekly basis).

I think what I find so offensive about this guy is that it shows that ordinary Americans have finally penetrated the sacred walls of my own personal internet machine.

2018-07-25, 10:26 PM #52
he's from 4chan

i know 4chan popularized him. as far as i'm concerned he's one of the more deep internet figures out there. definitely not normie stuff.

The only thing deep about this guy is the pizza dish he's "reviewing".

Discovered by bodybuilding forums because the people on that site like to laugh at 'dweebs'. No thanks

Also anything on Tosh.0 ain't deep anymore

I mean that sounds like a "no thanks" to the bodybuilding forums, not a "no thanks" to the guy himself?
2018-07-26, 9:17 AM #60
On the other hand, this is some insane ****. (To save you guys the misery of watching this, this guy was hugely popular among incels, and has been the subject of countless memes. Oh, and he was also made fun of on the bodybuilding forum. There seems to be significant overlap in the "redpilled" sites with the ****ers on that forum.)

Just trying to figure out why people are watching his videos besides the fact that they are bored. From what awful, banal things I've read on the bodybuilding forum, their reasons for being amused at him are embarrassingly shallow.

Sorry for the negativity. :P

OTOH, I am going to presume Spook has some very subtle and deep aesthetic for his amusement here (whereas I'm just a little more dense).

Maybe, I remember him from like 2013/2014 when he really was just a 4chan meme, and had like 10k subscribers. There was a small cult of people cheering him on. I guess now he's transcended it.

A small cult of people at my high school once cheered me on to do things that amused them. We all thought it was funny at the time, but in retrospect that probably had more to do with being a participant than anything intrinsic about the activity. In other news, I no longer like the 80's band I've been listening to for the last year, because suddenly they've become quite popular, which has mysteriously caused the music to sound very bad (despite having been recorded decades ago).

being a contrarian to popular opinion means you're just as dictated by popular opinion as people who follow popular opinion

I'm in Colorado now. I'm sure I'll be doing something public interest-related; my last job before the move was doing intake work for legal aid.

That's good, I hope you enjoy it. It takes a special sort of person to deal with that. I hope I never see another courtroom, another subpoena, or another piece of pleading paper ever again.

I've heard the field is a bit over saturated at present. Have you found that to be true? Do you have options for your career?
