Hi everybody. I won't be able to post everyday now. School for me is going to be back in session monday. We had almost 2 weeks worth of snow! And I live in Oregon which never gets snow. By the way, Freyr check you e-mail, I sent you something.

Yeah same here , I started last week though

Freyr , I can't test the maps myself cuz im on a 56 ram pc for the moment , that's what's slowing me down
2004-01-11, 11:05 AM #205
Send them to me, I've got plenty of RAM over here. ageofthejedi@hotmail.com or upload them to some server I can dowload, size isn't an issue. I can give advice too. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

No problem about the screenshots. I can wait.

Oh, about your email Darthyun:

Sorry Echoman, I meant to say something like:

Echoman isn't editing member of our mod team, but he comes up with all the great ideas. But he recently offered to help us a with our maps.

I didn't mean to make you fell un-important. Your a great member of the Coop team. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

Also, Alienized. How about creating a base Mod that contains all the code changes and then we can release Map/Skin Packs for the Coop Mod? Right now I'm writing the code so that anyone can make a coop map with all our functionality. In the long run it will be easier for people to manage instead of having multiple packs for every new level. JediMod is an example of this kind of problem. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

[EDIT]

Thanks for the gun damage idea. I made a server command that changes the gun damage.

I'm taling about the code that detects when all NPC's are dead and when to switch the map.

How are the team battle maps coming along?

Another Thought:

I was thinking about respawning in a NPC Coop Battle. If players can respawn after they die theres really no strategy to the game. One person could just play and win. But if we made NPC's harder to beat and humans don't respawn (or have a limit of respawns) it would increase strategy and gameplay. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

Well i've got a lack of inspiration for the moment , but im creating a Team map with objectives =)

What do you think about not making humans respawning? I did my first Coop Battle last night, and it was fun. Not all the features are working yet, but I'm getting close. I hope to release a beta soon, by the way check the showcases. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

Freyr, I know this mod has been is developement for a while, but would you take on another mapper. I would love to help. I already planned out a map that you could probaly use. It's meant for 2-4. They are all on a team. They have to get inside this one reactor compound. Kill stormies, Jedi, and have a good time. I'm sorry if my post on the showcase was a little harse, but i just thought you made a bad first impression. I think this mod has TONS of potential, but i will still need work, mainly the maps.

This is all judging from what I saw

I'm not going to turn done help on our mod, actually once the code is released anyone will be able to make a map for it. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

Sure work on the map and talk to alienized (and show us some screenshots [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] ).

The whole mod isn't just jedi's fightning in arenas and we're not going to have so many NPCs that people can't play. I just wanted to showcase my new AI and gameplay mode. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Alienized, do you think you could send me a map soon. I want to beta test soon. And I need one map. So if you could email it to me or post it on a server that would be great.

By the way do you know anyone else who would beta?

Arkon11 is and maybe Echoman [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] .

Question Time-----Before I get real involved in this I need to know a few things.

1. Who will we be playing as, I thought I heard we would be playing as sith (BAD). Lets be Jedi

2. Will this mod have a plot?

3. Have any ideas for a plot?

4.Will this thing be battle oriented. I don't want this just to be one huge melee or a ladder type map. I want this to have the feel of SP, but with a MP expierience.

5.Will the missions have objectives, or just kill everyone, then you win?

6.How many people are involved, and what are their jobs?

7. Alienized post some screenies [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

This mod is a MP mod and is mostly based around a new type of teamplay game with other humans.

You don't really play as anyone its teamplay.

Well, in theory you could make a series of missions that had a plot but we aren't planning any. I idea is you could make like a Episode 1 where you play as Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan go through the movie plot. Thats really up to any map makers outside of our mod team.

Battle orientied, well, ultimatly its in your hands to make the maps. You can make levels just like SP and thats what most of them will be but I think were having some battle maps where you fight AT-STs and Bounty Hunters...

Objectives, sure!

Hope that helped. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

OK, alienized heres my progress:

I've got everything working execpt ending the game.

Basically for every map you have to enter the number of NPCs for the map into the arena file. Then once this number = kills than the humans win and you switch the map. Sounds easy right. But its not so easy. Oh, and then theres the possibility that the humans will loose which causes the map to restart. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

I was just coming up with ideas for his question. I don't expect you to make a Episode 1 map that would be TOO much work for one person. Good to hear about the maps. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]
