So uh... GTA4.
2008-04-28, 8:32 AM #81
So uhhh.

Are we going to be having a game at midnight tonight?
2008-04-28, 8:56 AM #82
Amazon say they can't get me my copy for a few days (probably because I only ordered it today). If I can get it from ASDA tonight and then cancel that order I'd be up for it.

Apart from the time zone / work thing.

:(

Best Buy says my order has been shipped, but it isn't showing up on UPS's site yet. I doubt I'll have it tomorrow, but I'm still hoping.

We blame bad parenting on the games here.

Hmm, actually getting pretty excited about this. I'm bored as hell of all my games so something new will be fun.

Probably going to pick it up tomorrow after work, and hopefully return the useless "chatpad" that I bought the other day.

That's funny because they were DMA design then.

:hist101:
nope.

If I'm up to it, I might go to gamestop tonight at midnight and pick it up, otherwise I'll just go after work tomorrow.

Well then I apparently owned an odd version of GTA. I swear mine said Rockstar North.

Baring a sudden load of cash and the sudden inclination to purchase a console, I will continue to await the PC version.

A mate who works at my local ASDA is putting me a copy aside - I'll pick it up at half six tomorrow. I will NOT want to be at work all day with that sat in my bag...
2008-04-28, 12:29 PM #91
I've always wondered, would that mean half past six (ie. 6:30), or halfway to six (ie. 5:30)?
2008-04-28, 12:44 PM #92
Halfway past six in England, halfway to six in Germany.

You obviously don't play the PC versions, which are far superior.

Eh, you just wait and compare it to GTA4's online multiplayer, then we'll see which is more superior.

Still illegal.

If that were England, and GTA was booze you could get a £5k fine.

Clearly this is the problem we have today and this is why the parenting groups are bat-s**t crazy about games like this - they're p****d off that their little bratty kids conned them into buying 18 cert games for them and want to kick up a fuss.

JUST ROLLED IN THE DOOR

Who wants their **** rocked? I'm up for a game
2008-04-28, 10:31 PM #104
So guys, how is it?
2008-04-28, 10:33 PM #105
Still watching opening scene.

I've restarted it like twice. Once because I missed half of it by accident, once because I skipped it to go to multiplayer but I guess you have to play a little.
2008-04-28, 11:30 PM #106
I hold my copy in my hands! Unfortunately it's half 7 in the morning and I won't be home for nine and a half hours. So I'll be up for a game about 8 or 9 BST (GMT+1).
2008-04-28, 11:54 PM #107
UPS says it's in Jersey! It will still be many hours until I have it in my hands. This will be a long day.

2008-04-29, 1:02 AM #111
I'll probably pick it up tomorrow.
2008-04-29, 1:14 AM #112
This game is inteeeeeeeennnse.

It's not illegal, ESRB isn't enforced by law, only by stores.
2008-04-29, 5:16 AM #116
I said in England. Here the game is 18 cert and is enforced by the BBFC. Selling games/films to underage people if they are certified by the BBFC (for games it's only 18 and 15 that come under the BBFC, for 12 and under, it;s PEGI or ESRB) is illegal, plain and simple.
2008-04-29, 5:34 AM #117
well, I've ordered a 360 on the strength of the reviews 2 days ago... I also want to play halo3, assassins creed, CoD4 and a few other games which I don't quite fancy installing on my MacBook Pro (if they are even out for the pc), so I've kinda been itching to get one for a while and I'm just using this as the final excuse.

only problem now is that the 360 has just arrived at my brothers back in the UK (parents on holiday, lazy, retired buggers ;) ) and I don't head back home from geneva for another 2 weeks...Aaaaaaaahhhhhh. My brother has already emailed me taunting me about the fact he is "making sure everything works" on my new toy...gggrrr, older brothers suck. I'm sure I'll get another email in a day or so when GTA4 arrives too stating that he is 'just testing it out to make sure it works...."

On the Radio Broker station they just made a reference to two girls and one cup... if you don't know what that is then DO NOT FIND OUT, seriously

Picking it up in a few hours.
2008-04-29, 6:20 AM #120
Ah man good times. A friend and I went up to gamestop last night (actually was a spur of the moment thing as I didn't have enough to buy the game and hadn't planned on getting it til friday) and made fun of all the people that were in line, once they cleared out, we went in and got ourselves a copy. No standing in line, no wait, no reserve. Just good laughs at some other folks expense. My other friend told me he was staked out at a Hastings and he was the only guy there, he said "I feel like a huge loser, but it'll be worth it." Haha, can't say I blame him though, he works there... discounts!
