Time for more Blizzard speculation?
2008-06-25, 4:46 PM #41
I think a cold front will move in from the east on thursday.

:colbert:

Really though, why can't they come out with a completely new game?
nope.

Cause they rather milk their franchises. You know, lucas arts style!

Though Diablo III would be the winsauce. I would LOVE for them to make another CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK game just like D2 with a new story and updated graphics.

Agreed on the Diablo II kicking ***. I still play it from time to time.

Diablo III would pretty much make me loose my job, car, housing, cellphone, etc.

I'd LOVE a third Rock 'n Roll Racing. So long as they don't screw this one up too.

I think I'd book a trip to Blizzard Headquarters to slap each and everyone of their employees if they did something dumb like that. :P Why the hell make a game out of three unrelated settings. 1 is sci-fi, 1 is dark, grim fantasy and 1 is a more colorful, cartoon-esque fantasy.

You really can't put Diablo and Warcraft together without running one or the other's feel. Remove Diablo's darkness, or remove Warcraft's comedy and you got yet another unoriginal, cookie-cutter fantasy setting.

I'm convinced it's Diablo Related. There's going to be a head behind the ice, like every other diablo box thus far.

LOOK IT IS DIABLO 3
"Blizzard Entertainment, the developer of Diablo and Diablo II , is looking for a lead 3D environment artist skilled at creating models and texture maps for both architectural and natural environments. The ideal candidate has experience modeling and texturing assets for a diverse visual range of environments. Take a look at the job posting here."

OBVIOUSLY

I also am in the process of making SCIENTIFIC evidence.

Well, I kinda have meh hopes for Diablo III, as the makers of Diablo II are not with Blizzard anymore.

I really hope it's Diablo III, and really hope they don't frak it up.
2008-06-26, 1:20 PM #60
They already made a Diablo III

It was called Smellgate: Suckdom

Diablo II formula suuuuuuuckks.

With this week's speculation over the Blizzard teasers, more and more reports in the media, and numerous tips coming direct us at IncGamers from reliable inside industry sources in the past 24 hours, we now have confirmation from inside sources to say that Diablo 3 WILL be announced on Saturday at WWI Paris 2008.

Apparently this guy has run this Diablo fansite for about 10 years and it's a very credible source. The website has been home to many Diablo fans for ages, and for this guy to post something like this deems the information as pretty respectable and believable. I wouldn't say it's a 100% guarantee, but I'd definitely say that anyone who wasn't letting their hopes get up (like myself) can probably ease up their guard a little more now.

Aaaand, here's a pretty nice little pic for ya:

They did leave the game off in the northern area to kill Baal.
2008-06-26, 2:17 PM #65
This pleases me immensely. I normally wouldn't let my hopes get up much, but diabloii.net doesn't tend to jump the gun with confirmations, so they must be pretty damned sure. I must admit, I haven't truly been excited about a game since Diablo II...well, except maaaaybe Half Life 2. Sure there's a lot of clicking involved, but nothing tickles me quite like that dark Hell theme.

What the hell would you expect a diablo fansite to say?

They've always been reliable however. They never jumped the gun on other releases.

Except the last time there was an announcement coming, coincided with the domain purchase of diabloiii.net or whatever it was, and they said it was diablo 3.

To be honest, I thought the end of Lord of Destruction was much more open to a Diablo MMORPG than The Frozen Throne's ending was open to a Warcraft MMORPG.

Feh.

The domain was only taken a month ago... there were no announcements from Blizzard in that time.

cool guy, if they wanted it secret couldn't they keep it secret?

Yeah, I'm still trying to keep my hopes down, try and avoid disappointment if it's wrong.

I've been playing Diablo 2 for the last few weeks with a friend. Sorceress and Barbarian duo going through Normal, Nightmare and Hell. Fun times. The game is simplistic-ish and overly click-tastic, BUT I prefer that than WoW's click-once, lean back, grab your crotch, drink a pepsi, and kill creatures.

Yet I've played for 3 years, downed Illidan and made it to Mu'ru in Sunwell before shutting down my account. :P Thats pretty much how the game IS.

New update.

Splash image seems to look more like the Lich King (or a protoss?). New rune is from the Three Vikings. The purple thingy is an evil penguin. And the names of the penguin's images are the mystery numbers from Lost.

I dunno.

The image today with eyes makes me wonder if its Diablo or not. Still hard to tell. Are they supposed to announce saturday or sunday?
