I'm really not convinced about anything. Yesterday I would have been more inclined to say diablo 3 than I am today. I'll just wait til tonight to find out.

I would play a Diablo 3 if it were an action RPG that was controller friendly, and had lots of stuff to do and a strong narrative.

I would not play another Diablo II clickclickclickfest.

I will admit I am intrigued, I kind of hope they announce a new IP (One that contains elements not borrowed from many other sources perhaps?)

PS, last frame looks like less of a face than the one before it. Which I see as an obvious design flaw, which lends me to believe this is an amateurs depiction of events that have not happened through photoshop.

I just can't get too excited about it.

I seriously don't see why people play WoW, because it's pretty stale/boring

I'm not excited for Starcraft II, because I think the genre is kind of played out.

In retrospect, when I look back at Diablo... it was every bit as repetitive and boring as WoW, only it had more blood and more lootz and less narrative. The gameplay was a snorefest.

What can they seriously do to improve it? Make another smellgate:suckdom?

I tend to agree. I got a blast out of WoW personally, but it was DEFINATLY not because of the gameplay itself. I found it was extremely boring even while raiding. I just enjoyed the lore and playing with people.

Diablo 2 in and of itself wasn't that great of a game, but again I find its fun to play with a friend while chit chatting over skype. Playing alone, I'd be tempted to say its a horribly boring game.

I guess I get my fun out of synergy with other folks.

So in a general sense, aye, I agree with you and unless they have some sort of revolutionary rpg combat system, I'll most likely pass on it.

Maybe its just a stupid way for BLIZZARD to keep us excited for nothing.
And maybe those rune signs are like a throw off.

I mean just go from the left eye and go left diagonal down. ITS A PROTOSS SIGN :O.

It's diablo 3. The project's been receiving minor attention because of the SC2 announcement, but various blizzard officials have commented on the fact that it's been "in the works" or something similar. No, I'm not gonna scour google for the one article that's credible rather than some fanboy internet rumor, but it's coming.

I just don't see why they'd announce it so soon. Kinda silly to take thunder away from what's sure to be an amazing hit (SC2) so quickly. Also, for all of you doubters, remember how many massassians said SC2 was never gonna come? (and you know who you are)

Top Secret MMO in development, not to mention it's been 7 years since the last Diablo release, and nary a scratch of updated info.

They're hiring concept artists. That means the top-secret next-gen MMO is still in early or pre-production.

Did I miss something? I played Diablo and all I seemed to do was click on things billions of times until my wrist hurt. It didn't seem like fun at all. Was it just that I was crap at it and there was more to it?

Yeah, the game goes deeper then that.
The real fun of it is in the character building, trying out all different skill sets and equipments until you have 'the ultimate character'
The storyline was also pretty good, so many people just skip it entirely and complain that the game has no story... foolish.
