That has more to do with the site owner banning me after his personal biasis against me clouded even a most rudimentary ability to comprehend my posts in a particular thread. That and the fact that I realized the main reason for being a frequent poster at Massassi no longer existed, and hasn't for some time.
My belief that the American people would select McCain over Obama was partly based on my theory that when it came down to it people would select the person who has a long record of honorable service and experience as opposed to the man with limited experience, a questionable past, controversial personal friends and advisors, and expressed values downright contradictory to the founding principles and documents of this country.
McCain was never my choice for the candidacy but I honestly hoped he would perform better. I always knew that there were significant obstacles for McCain to surpass in this campaign and I chose to have an optimistic attitude. Obama won, I believe, mostly due to pop culture and race but, regardless, he won.
I have had a fear that this country will continue its leftist slide mostly due to dumbing down and continued dependence on government to provide. I really don't see an end to this trend until America wakes up as things continue to get worse.
So, in short, my posts of an inevitable McCain victory were based mostly on an intentional over-optimism because it is simply not in my nature to be as pesimistic as the average liberal. I would gladly eat the proverbial crow if I still frequently posted here. Instead I will continue to lurk and only post in the rare instance that something really peaks my interest.
I would also like to add that the man who said this before the election "...this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on earth.โ for some reason felt the need to lower the bar in his victory speach, "We may not get there in one year or even in one term...There will be setbacks and false starts."
And last, but not least, the Obama National Anthem, sung to the tune of the Soviet Anthem:
All hail the messiah
Obama, Obama
The path to the new socialist motherland
Our savior, our savior
Obama, Obama
The leader more famous than Lindsay Lohan
Bow down and praise the one
Give him your money and your guns
Give us a country
That makes your wife proud
Lord Barry heal the bitter ones
White and Clinging to faith and to guns
Hope for the change of the hope of the change!
