First off, no one mentioned virgins... methinks he doth protest too much.

Secondly, I can totally see where he thought kissing you after you kissed him back was ok. You gave the go ahead, and so he carried on. The boob tackle... not ok. Thats not ever ok. And for him to grab you chin and twist you head around... for such a Casanova he should have known better... but he's a creep. The next time someone tries to grab your face make a game of it, and ask him if theres something on your face or what he's reaching for. Don't let him continue to touch your face until you get an answer, and if he responds, "I want to kiss you" you can say, "i'm not ready for that, sorry."

So sugarless, what steps are you going to take to:
A) Make sure you never have to see him again?
B) Prevent this sort of behavior by others in the future?
C) Defend yourself if someone acts like this again?

You might not want to tell us, which is fine, but make sure you are able to answer those three questions, and tell someone you trust.

Um, men are pigs and think they are god's gift to women? A female friend of mine is really, really attractive and I'm amazed at some of the lines/tactics that guys try to use on her. E.g. why would anyone think the line "You're so hot, I just want to bite your arse" would work.

To those who asked - it was mostly a rant, though I won't say I wasn't curious about the responses.

To those who asked about the movie - it was Sherlock Holmes, which was a fun movie. Holmes and Watson really remind me of my roommate and me.

And in response to the others - I totally agree that kissing back was wrong and was a signal that I was okay with the continuing to make out thing. That was most definitely my bad. I just didn't think it warranted the rest of the night.

Also, for those who asked about why I agreed to go out with him in the first place - the date came about in sort of a roundabout kind of way. It wasn't like I saw him across a crowded room and was like "Oh! He's definitely not going to be a dbag, I should totally date him"

I think that covers most of what I need to address, correct?

Because sadly it does, for a few women.

Um.

1.) No they aren't.
2.) No they don't.

There are good men and there are bad women. A person's biological sex, of all things, doesn't preclude them from being a selfish, self-entitled person. Similarly, the fact that you're bigoted against men (instead of bigoted against women) doesn't save you from being sexist.

Pretty much!

I mean, the situation was pretty sucky for sugarless and maybe even a bit traumatic, but... hey, welcome to dealing with people. If you're going swimming with sharks you'd better make sure you aren't bleeding.

I'm disappointed at the "kick him in the balls" advice. Doesn't seem like he went so far as to warrant physical abuse. Now, if she says no and he keeps going and trying to force her, that's another situation.

BTW, I'm typing this at a club, and I kinda stared at two women at another table, and they started motioning their hands in ways to suggest that they wish to talk to me, all the while saying something directly into each other's ear and pointing at me. I'm pretty sure it was me too because this is a corner table. So what did I do? Whipped out my cell phone and started reading massassi... :P

Welp, I'm on the train home now. Drunk and still happily devoid of any STDs! Now that the alcohol is making me feel no shame for doing all kinds of crazy things, I shall give myself a pat on the back for a good job avoiding the dangers of modern sexual partnership. Take note, humanity!

Oh I guess this thread is about sugarless, huh? Well, good job not having ACTUAL sex with that celebrity status lacking version of David Duchovny.

I'm confused Jon. Maybe you can use your awesome internet psychoanalysis skills to help me. If I'm bigoted against men, does that then mean I'm being sexist to myself?

It was hardly traumatic. It was a ridiculous situation, but I'm not going to be scarred for life. I never felt threatened or anything; it was just skeezy and I felt dirty and incredulous.

I left feeling grossed out and kind of offended, hence the thread, but now I have a highly amusing story.

As a preventive measure I recommend starting studying martial arts. Something more practical, like Krav-Maga (sp?) for example. Not even so much for the fact that you'll be able to kick *** when needed, but more for the fact that you'll know that you're able to kick *** when needed. Helps to build self-confidence and is just generally great fun once you get into it. Not to mention, most people that I know who do martial arts are pretty cool, so chances are that you'd get to make a few friends while you're at it. :D

Yes, learning martial arts is the obvious choice for all women who don't like the advances of overzealous men.

Yeah, see,... Shayol,... putting women on a pedestal so you can protect their delicate porcelain from the roving horde of rape monsters isn't just sexist and demeaning for all of humanity, and it isn't just rolling back feminism to a time when Virginia Woolf was shocking and vulgar, but it's also a very tired internet cliche.

Ah, so now not only am I a sexist towards men and apparently myself, but now I idealise women. Gotcha. I'm glad you're here to help me resolve the serious character flaws I have. And I'm amazed that you've managed to so accurately diagnose me, you've clearly amassed a preponderance of evidence. Thanks Dr Phil.

I had no idea I was such a hideous human being. Let me tell you that I'm outraged at myself for being sexist to all humanity. I'm going to give myself such a talking to. Oh the shame, the ignominy! Tell me Jonny, what do I have to do to be a better man?

Shayol, wait about 5 years until you've matured out of whatever phase this is. Then read some serious literature on gender studies and you'll realize that it's very common for people to hold sexist beliefs about genders and their proper roles that are disadvantageous to both men and women.
