Man, everyone has such a strong opinion about the dude. He is a dude. He reads a lot. He doesn't post any personal details. Is it the facts or the ` that gets all the panties twisted up? I can't tell anymore.

I operate from a theory on human capability that can be enumerated in the following way.

Every individual's overall capability is represented by a integer which acts as a pool from which specific capacities or characteristics can draw from. For the purpose of this example, we'll assign the numerical value of 100 to that integer. Now this value is always a set number + or - about 15%. Meaning in this example, everyone operates from a pool of ~85 to ~115 points (the exception to this rule, of course, being people born with mental/physical handicaps. It could be argued that they, for whatever reason, tend to have a significantly lower value), with the values closer to the median being more common. This relationship is demonstrated in the following graph:

Due to the relatively universal overall human capacity level, and the level of knowledge that Jon`C demonstrates in intellectual areas (including his proficiency in sarcasm/wit), I am inclined to believe that a significant amount of his overall capacity has been spent in those areas, leaving the physical areas (including, but not limited to strength, physical attractiveness, and penis size), and the social ares (ability to relate to people, make friends, be polite, etc.) relatively lacking.

I, on the other hand, have been distributed pretty evenly overall, with a slight propensity towards intelligence and physical attributes, making me of slightly above average intelligence and physical attractiveness/capability, but slightly lacking in social skills. This is not to contradict what I've said in the past (featured in Antony's signature), in that I do not lack social skills entirely, I just tend to be a bit on the lower end of the scale in terms of social aptitude.

So what you're saying is that people cannot be good at many things. That's blatantly untrue.

Also, you are significantly below average intelligence. You can't realize it because you're stupid. You're gullible. You believe what makes you comfortable and happy. You persist in delusion.

in that case, I must be better looking than I thought.

(in all seriousness, I base my intelligence level on my scores on various aptitude tests I've taken, where I've always scored above average, and significantly above average in some subjects (typically english, and reading comprehension). (Lower scores are in math and science, but still well ahead of the curve.)

Aptitude tests are worthless. They measure how well you take tests.

Your posts over the past years, however, tell a lot about how you think. Which is to say that you don't.

That you say this is ironic to me, because it requires thought to formulate and put into words a theory on human capability, and it demonstrates a lack of thought to dismiss it out of hand by calling it "comfortable", when it's in fact quite the opposite, in that it requires one to examine one's self to recognize one's weaknesses in direct relation to one's strengths.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

I designed a few half-decent levels for a game 0.0001% of the global population cares about AND I am about to enter a full-time job as a successfully unemployed actor. I also scored above 10 on the SATs. AND I have an English accent! God has certainly granted me more than my fair share of gifts. Jon'C, smight me, please, for I am ridiculously over-blessed!

Educators hate aptitude tests for this reason. Colleges and government use them because they are easy and convenient, because it's the best they've got. You can study for aptitude tests and improve your score. If you take an aptitude test over and over, your score will increase. As a measure of intelligence, it's worthless.

That's just the thing. You haven't done this at all. You've found some bogus method that seems comfortable to you, and then said, "wow, I'm pretty good at most things!" Take my above example. You've bought into the bull**** that aptitude tests determine intelligence because you like to THINK you are intelligent. You don't care whether or not you really are.

I suggest you go take an IQ test at a real testing facility (NOT online). IQ tests, while highly culture sensitive and narrow in what they measure, do consistently measure intelligence. If I take an IQ test 20 times, my score won't significantly improve between the first and the last.

A truthful measure of a man's intelligence is to admit to himself where he is weak. A truthful measure of a man's humility, is to admit to others where he is weak.

It's a good thing none of my overall capacity went to humility.

Some people are better at multi-tasking than others.

Also, admitting your weaknesses (with a dash of self-deprecating, good humor) to a bunch of people on an online forum is quite different to revealing your weaknesses to a pack of hungry wolves.

Oh, dang I've made another mistake. I didn't realize you spoke for "Educators". I apologize. So tell me, Educators spokesperson, if IQ tests are such a better measure of intelligence, then why doesn't anybody use them?
