How does Jon`C know everything

I guess you guys still don't get it. For the record, none of my posts were "bitter."

I was just playing the game that everyone was playing. The OP asked for theories on how Jon`C "knew everything" and I provided one, which you all took seriously (dispite the fact that it was blatantly sarcastic (hell, I even implied he had a small penis, as if I'd know)). So then you all got all butt hurt that I was making the same jokes as everyone else.

So I continued making increasingly off-the-wall, dark humor posts, which you all continued to take seriously, until finally someone suggested that maybe I wasn't entirely serious (even though he himself took me seriously too), at which point I confirmed.

But I thought you all realized and had moved past this after my discourse with Emon.. I guess not.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Well at least Massassi can keep up the internet trend... One it goes downhill, it stays there.
2010-09-10, 4:26 PM #203
Sarn, the most amazing thing was that Emon never even called it a backpedal but, really, can we stop talking about it now and get back to what's important? Trashing/Worshiping Jon`C.

Sarn: The poster child for Dunning-Kruger.

I love me some JonC bashing but Sarn is just ****ing LOST.

Well, sure, but it's his motives that I'm unsure about. I actually really question what beliefs are really his because he vehemently defends such extreme positions with real fervor, but he has proven to me to be much more rational. Without the vocabulary of Jon`C this is hard to get across (although with his vocabulary it would be beyond comprehension at an eleven hundredth-grade reading level) but he is so clearly very intelligent yet so radically leftist? That doesn't compute.

It'd be even more mind-boggling if he was intelligent and extremely right.

I am indifferent to JonC and everyone else here because I dont know them that well yet...even though its almost been 2 years, but anyway I think its funny how all of his haters are actually just fueling his ego by crying about him in a person flame thread.

Regardless of what his motives and beliefs are, I think it's a valid technique for anyone to study the information, pick a position, and then argue that position until you are blue in the face with someone who knows what they are talking about to some degree. How better to determine the strengths and weaknesses of your position, and really cement that you like it or make you re-think it? It's like field testing it: how does it hold up? Maybe you can't really find out what's true or correct, but you can find out what you really think.

And this is exactly why I do what I do. Really you hit the nail on the head. Well ok, not quite. I usually don't "study the information" first. :p But I use arguments on Massassi to play around with ideas, concepts and theories I have. First, it does what you said, which is showing strengths and weaknesses, and second, it teaches me to be able to express the concept more succinctly.

Yeah I agree, I was expecting that. But srsly the whole "make a sarcastic joke, have people take you seriously and get all butt-hurt, explain it was a sarcastic joke, and have people not believe you and think you're backpedaling" bit is getting old.

Yes, pls! But I've already used up the extent of my wit in this thread, so... Jon`C's a turd.

*shrug* ok.
I really could care less if you think that's the case. Yep, I really believe that Jon`C is so smart because he is ugly and has a small penis. I guess it's just easier for you to believe that I'm some crazy nut who believes that, than to believe that you basically got punk'd.

Whaa Whaa. Then stop acting like bloody fools. People have different opinions. HOLY **** MY WORLD IS CRUMBLING. I didn't realize that when you guys belittle each other, it's acceptable, so long as I don't do the same.

I don't understand why you'd say this. Presumably you'd think we're arguing because we are so enraged at the thought of different opinions? First of all, no one's that upset, you only think we are (I have no idea why). Second, why is it bad to argue about differing opinions?

I was specifically addressing your high and mighty "maturity" stance when your own behavior was immature. It seems the whole reason you are in this thread is to make fun of us for "arguing on the internet."

I never said I was acting any better. I even admitted in my last post that I was acting the exact same as you.

It's not that you're arguing over a difference in opinions, that's fine. Massassi is a good place for constructive debates, but lately, it seems as if that has shifted. People debate around here, but it's only a matter of time (usually once it hits a page long) where those debates will turn into jibes and then outright attacks on some people just because they have a difference in opinion (I.E - The last police thread on JLee). Debating your side of an argument is one thing, but when it starts to take on a personal level, which seems consistent with a lot of threads around here lately, it changes things a bit.

I'm not here to make fun of you for arguing on the internet, that would be stupid. It's like I said, arguing is one thing. But talking smack about someone should be reserved for places that aren't supposed to be about educated opinions.

I don't know, but I feel the vibe of Massassi has changed recently. There seems to be quite a bit more animosity.

I never said that you had to follow my guidelines? I'm talking about just showing some basic human respect.

Why are you so mad? Is your marriage failing? Kid drop out of school? Fail on a raid of Naxx?
