While there are indeed "Televangelists" that are con-artists, there are also those that are very much like the Evangelicals at your corner church (they're sincere in their beliefs). It seems to me that a religion that wants to get its message out (e.g: Evangelicals) would find television as a good medium to do this. My guess is that more of these churches would use television to their advantage of they were able/capable.
