Sucks, oh well, i'm sure something worse will happen eventually, then we can all look back at these times when stuff wasn't so screwed up.

..So we make threads when there is a shooting at a school and everyone says it sucks. How about when April has been the deadliest month for soldiers in Iraq since the beginning of the war? I didn't see a thread about that.
The first 5 days of April, an average of 25 American military personnel were killed. Where is the thread for that?
Yeah, Sure it's horrible that 31 people died over this, but isn't it worse that our Soldiers, My comrades... My Brothers, are over here dying and no one cares?

You think no-one cares? You're wrong.
It's just iraq's been going on for a long time now, and people know that their lives are at risk when they sign up for the job.
If you want a thread about the iraq thing, make a damn thread about it and don't go whinging in a thread about a different tragedy.

Soldiers signed up knowing the risks of war. Sure its bad that they are dying.. but its not nearly the same as a crazy guy shooting a crapload of people in a school.

No offense intended, but it's quite a different scenario. This happened in a stable, peaceful country. The victims were unarmed civilians. They did not volunteer to get shot at like you did.

I come back from student teaching, and I get to see this on the news. Damn it, these stories are so horrific, it's just so sad. There are 31 families who are going to get the worst news of their life. It's just so tragic.

What bothers me is that the man on the news kept saying "the gentleman that did this..."

Can we define gentleman? Because last time I checked, it wasn't slaughtering 32 people that makes anyone a gentleman.

Lots of Universities don't allow weapons carry. Of course, here, people really don't give a **** about those regulations.

Yeah, regardless of permits and such nobody except the police can carry firearms on my school's campus. Even our head of security, who is a sheriff cannot carry a gun on campus.

The gunman probably got dumped by his gf a few days before, and took out his mental anguish on innocents with his assortment of hand guns.

Yanks have high school shootings, Britland have high school stabbings, unless its in a inner London gangsta school, then we do have the odd shooting.

I'm blown away by this, but I'm also annoyed by the kind of a backlash today's society has over this.

More security! Metal Detectors! Cameras! Videogames did it! Women don't shoot people! Asian American rights! Ban handguns! Soldiers die every day! Cheap political point! I am a decent human being for trying to prevent this in the future by banning, policing, and scapegoating!

I hope fister comes back and makes a thread. I really want to hand him his ***. That post pissed me off.
