I could've sworn Clinton dropped it more than that. Still, considering the position some people are in in the inner cities I support it, though there does still need to be more reforms done to the program.

That's what Clinton himself said when he signed it.

unfortunately neither do the people who ARE in government. ;)

i understand that no systems are perfect. just the fact that there are humans running them will mean an occasional snare. however, many of our government run welfare/social service/things are bunbled to the point of ineptitude. dont get me wrong i am all for helping people, i give regularly to charities, and have been involved in some of them on more than a few occasions. im just not a fan of the idea of the government taking taxpayers money and for lack of a better description, giving it to other people without making DAMN sure its being spent properly.

Absolutely. If there's one thing this country needs it's less white trash and minorities

Well, to be fair, I could certainly do without the white trash.

(but then Republicans would never get elected! Ba-dum-pssh!)

there's probably a big overlap between those two demographics.

you would actually be surprised... a lot of red necks are fairly well off, own some kind of land, and have multiple guns (mostly rifles).

whereas most white trash are fairly poor rent the land their trailer (which they may or may not own) is on and may or may not have guns for protecting their stash of crystal meth.

while rednecks and white trash often do live within a close proximity to one another, there is usually a noticeable difference between the two. :v:

actually... some times the two demographics do overlap, however in that case a distinct third demographic is created... the hillbilly.

There's actually quite a bit of overlap. It's called their family tree.

My favourite thing about Sarah Palin is that she won the beauty pagant... in Alaska.

Seriously, I could win a beauty pagant in Alaska. Do they release a bear into the hall and the first contender to kill it and wear it wins the pagant?

This is an accurate breakdown. Rednecks usually have lots of money. Or at least enough to buy a ton of cool stuff to play with.

Well, yes, it's a bit of a generalization, but in order to get to that point they have to have enough leeway in their positions to respond to the whims of team sport style media debacle. They just believe that adhering to the party line is on most issues is worth it. For the most part though, most people sort who ride the party line believe their own press releases anyway. This issue, like is say, is more with the average American than the quality of chose we have.

Additionally the fact that people love Obama is precisely what might make him a good leader. A leader isn't someone who knows all the right answers, it's someone who can inspire people to follow them down routes they may not normally be willing to travel. As long as they have the capability to listen to advice, anybody who can get people to follow is suitable to be a leader. On the same vein, someone who knows best will make an awful leader if they don't have the skills required to put their plans into action.

The thing is, Obama isn't so much leading as he is responding, and pressing home issues that don't have much merit but have a large and fairly universal emotional impact. I mean, yes he can use this to his advantage somewhat, and that will definitely grow with his hold on general sentiment, but he isn't there yet.

I did hear some fairly intelligent conversations with campaign advisers on NPR. The trouble is, that's a far cry from what most people watch on TV.

I've got to admit Alaska doesn't produce the prettiest-looking babes, but it would seem Palin is a diamond among coal.

(Technically, she was born in my home state, Idaho, though.)

Oh. Well. It's simple, really. You know her daughter that is 5 months pregnant? She gave birth to the kid with downs syndrome, who is 4 months old, that Palin is saying is her own son. (What, didn't you know pregnancies can overlap? Pish, you newb)

With her background in hunting, I'm hoping Sarah Palin will continue the vice-presidential tradition of shooting a close friend in the face.

If she wins of course, but Biden seems less likely to. (He's not so into traditions apparently)

That poor kid with down's syndrome is in for a messed up life, eating grilled caribou.

Seriously though, Palin can field skin a moose, but she can't even persuade her husband to go get damn vasectomy?

At the very least you'd expect she could have performed the procedure herself...
