Well, at least McCain is against torture as opposed to Obama. I mean, Christ, have you actually listened to an Obama speech? Pure torture.

Torture is one of those funny subjects I have no comment on.

So basically if they aren't your cup of tea you're fine with dehumanizing them and ****ing them up right?

No.

However, if they know something I desperately need to know, I don't see a problem with dumping water over their plastic covered face. I have had it done to me and it is unbearable. It is the line where you can almost start calling what you are doing torture.

I often wonder how I can tolerate terrible things like that, but still be against the death penalty. Then I realize that I am a total sociopath and it all becomes clear.

**In response to vinnys deleted post**

Well I wasnt discussing torture of suspects or war captives, if you are replying in response to my postings, but yeah your totally right.

I actually thought of this yestersday while watching SG-1. (here comes the nerdy comparasion to a scifi) When Jack was held captive by Baal for the first time when he was a "tok'ra", and Baal was constantly torturing him and killing him, when he had no idea of what he had done, I couldn't help but think that I would have just started making up stories as to why I was there and what the girl meant to me etc. Just to get out of there. Of course if I was in that situation I probably would have tried to acend like Daniel rather then be stubborn about it.

(please do not start a topic changing argument about why Jack didn't/couldn't lie about it, I'm only using it as an example -.-)

Don't pay too much attention to that stuff. The Huffington Post is pure garbage. Even self-acknowledged flaming liberals admit that it is lightyears more biased then places like Fox News.

That being said and knowing that going in, I thought the article was funny :)

Here's a better one we can ALLLLLL agree on

That's an interesting article, but I'm not sure how much I trust "some people in Alaska said..."

Also, it's really bugging me that the McCain campaign isn't letting anyone interview Palin.

It also bugs me that they're trying to suspend the investigation into "Troopergate."

Stein says that as mayor, Palin continued to inject religious beliefs into her policy at times. "She asked the library how she could go about banning books," he says, because some voters thought they had inappropriate language in them. "The librarian was aghast." The librarian, Mary Ellen Baker, couldn't be reached for comment, but news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire her for not giving "full support" to the mayor.

If all that were true it would make her almost as mysterious as Obama.

Because about five minutes after McCain announced his choice, the GOP realized that she was a horrible person and dangerously unqualified to do anything but sit on a couch and eat bon-bons.

Seriously. The McCain campaign is over. He's basically given up. McCain wanted a good VP but he couldn't get one because joining his campaign would be political suicide. They aren't running for 2008, they're running for 2012. Notice how they aren't even running like they're the incumbent party anymore?

How is anybody seriously still loyal to this crop of ****wits? Unless you have $50 million in the bank you'd have to be catastrophically stupid to vote for them. They're a bunch of rich, soulless ***holes who don't care about you or anybody else. Why do you want these people to lead you? Why? THEY HATE YOU!

If you're referring to the contemporary report about Palin threatening the librarian's job, I have that too.

So there isn't really any proof at this point then. Oh well, if Alaskans hate her so much I guess we'll get some legitimate reports eventually.

She asked about this, at one point, in a public city council meeting. It's really not up for debate that she discussed banning books.
