Great news; after watching some cooking videos on youtube it turns out that eggs are easy to make!

From what I've been able to piece together from this thread, ability to make eggs -> increased chances of getting laid. Awesome!

I need to expand my egg making abilities. Currently I only know how to make them scrambled. I'm not all about over-easy or eggs benedict or what not.

In fact, I need to VASTLY expand my culinary skills.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

If you can make hollandaise sauce following a traditional recipe you're a better cook than 99.999% of people.

Pity they can stink out your kitchen and make your breath smell. :P

Boo poached eggs!
nope.

Good luck finding de-milked butter for hollandaise sauce. You're going to need a steamer pot too, unless you hate yourself.

Clarified Butter isn't that hard to come by. If you're really stuck you can use Ghee, it's the same thing.
nope.

Eh. It would probably help if my grandmother used the term 'clarified' rather than 'de-milked'. :argh:

I've seen a lot of his videos before.

That kitchen will haunt my dreams for years to come. Also I think you should post a real cooking thread. :P

would it have also helped if your grandmother used the term 'double boiler'
2009-07-18, 4:56 PM #215
A steamer and a double boiler are different. The steamer has holes in the top pan. Obviously that's no good for a sauce, but I don't have a double boiler, so I just stick a smaller pan inside the top half of the steamer pan.

I've used a make-shift bain-marie before, it worked well enough.
nope.

I once strained gravy with a window screen.

Which turns it into what is correctly called a double boiler. Congrats.

A double boiler is too hot for a hollandaise anyway.

Except that double boilers hold the steam in and this contraption does not. :|
2009-07-18, 5:25 PM #220
That would be why it works for a hollandaise.
2009-07-18, 7:33 PM #221
now i'm hungry... thanks!
