That made me sad, and here's why: Someday, some team will go undefeated through a 16-game (or longer) season and the playoffs. It might still happen this year, even. But no matter what team it is, it's unlikely that I'll find them less offensive than this year's Saints.

How are the saints offensive?

Jeremy Shockey, but I can forgive that. Any other team that goes undefeated, I'd probably have some bigger reason to hate.

Now we just need the Colts to finally give up a loss, and all will be right in the world again. But the Saints were a bigger deal. Here's hoping they can lose home-field advantage.

Also, probably more important to the question of why the Saints would have been offensive: Have you ever seen an interview with Mercury Morris? Undefeated seasons have a way of turning mediocre players into obnoxious *******s, no matter who the team is.

Dear Vikings,

I'm no fair-weather fan, but why do we lose to crappy teams? The Panthers? Really? Where is our defense? Did Allen blow his wad with that sack? Was that all? We can't afford this crap. Now you put us at risk for dropping down to the 3rd slot and a wildcard game? Please stop.

My hope for the Vikings is fading. I didn't get to see the Cinci game, but I think that got everyone's spirits up about tonight. It was just so hard to watch, nothing... nothing went right.

In a way I'm not surprised though. It almost seems like certain players are shutting down and being outplayed and outpaced at the same time.

I see them being one and done in the playoffs. I wish I didn't feel that way but I do. :(

This is what happens when a team that is used to playing in a dome on artificial turf plays on a wet grass field.
>>untie shoes
2009-12-20, 8:52 PM #306
That was evident right at the beginning when both Brett and Adrian lost their footing. I thought someone else did as well. Regardless of the field type, this does not look like a team that could hold their own in the super bowl anymore.
2009-12-20, 8:53 PM #307
That's one of the reasons why I have said for years there needs to be a standard for field turf. Either real or fake. NFL and NCAA should pick one, and if you wanna play, you have to play on that.

I bring this thread back to exclaim: PACK IN THE PLAYOFFS!!! Whilst I'm not sure as to their chances, it doesn't look like anybody in the NFC really wants it right about now....and I really am surprised Indy pulled Manning at that point in the game.

Are you kidding? Manning won't play again until the playoffs. The Colts management always takes the starters out after they get a first week bye.

In other news, the Browns win their third straight.

I don't typically watch American football but it seems like the Washington Redskins are kind of a bad team.

Jim Caldwell shafted my fantasy football team in the championship game. I hope he loses his first playoff game, gets fired and gets cancer.

You should have expected this though. Weeks 13-17 I always expect to see the 2nd string play more.

It's not as if I didn't know there was a good chance. My backups were Eli Manning and Jason Campbell (who ended up scoring 3 and 0 points respectively), so I was pretty well locked into starting Peyton and hoping for the best.
