I'm sure if Sige patched his JK with the LEC patch, than rewrote the patch for the new version of JK, it'd work just fine.

Because every time an exe is recompiled with minor changes (doesn't matter how small), the memory addresses are all changed, so anything that patches the old version wouldn't work on the new. All it takes is a memory offset of one bit (just one boolean variable) and the patch won't work.

Det is correct. :) Heh, you have no idea the pains I went through with XWA versions 1.0, 1.01, and 1.02 (or some such numbering system) and my exe stat editor. :mad:

you might just try getting the original exe from someone. I don't know if the 1.01 patch alters any other files, but it may be that you can just replace the exe and it will work fine.
oh, and if jk just crashes right after loading a level, then it might be something else to do with the patch, but it is probably just that you got the 1.01 version.

I tried to copy over the exe, but the patcher kept saying it couldn't find jk.exe

I tried fiddling with the registry, although I doubt the patcher uses that to find jk.exe, but eventually had to reinstall.

You have to place the patcher files inside the directory containing JK.exe (Usually C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Jedi Knight\)

Thanks, Emon. I will give it a shot when I get home from school tonight. So all I do is swap the 1.01 exe file out for the 1.0?

Sorry to bump this, but has there been any progress on the MOTS patch? (the surface limit)

Also, how exactly can the wrapper change the graphics (not increase speed, but actually look different)

the mots one hit some problems, and I haven't had a chance to mess with it more. It can probably be fixed though...
Not doing the wrapper anymore. Working on something similar where it renders by reading out of jk's memory, but not sure how well that will work out...that would allow more freedom to change things though.

I thought I'd post to let everybody know that replacing the exe and repatching does not work. If you bought JK after release, you are completely SOL. :(

Emon, I took the 1.0 exe file you sent me and replaced 1.01 with it, then patched it, still fubar.
