To go into more depth, my top 5 albums at the moment are probably:
This Providence - Self-Titled
Not what most people who really digged Our World's Divorce will be expecting, but still a good record. Very polished, pacey and highly infectious.
Park - Building A Better...
Another solid release from this band. Lots of stand out tracks and not a bad track on here.
Gym Class Heroes - As Cruel As School Children
Massive step up from Papercut Chronicles. A few of the songs have a Kanye West/Outkast edge to them. Very poppy stuff. I can't get Clothes Off, Queen and I and the rest out of my head. Aided as ever by a couple of great sets of guest vocals.
Alexisonfire - Crisis
Another slight progression for the Canadian hard-rock merchants. Even less of the fiddly guitars, more shouty than screamy sounds coming from frontman George and an even silkier vocal contribution from mister Dallas Green. A couple of not too welcome (in my opinion) tracks, but ones that break up the record nicely.
Slayer - Christ Illusion
Storming stuff. The 2 or 3 tracks that are duff are only so in comparison to the rest of what's on offer. By this, I mean they aren't bad, just not as amazing as some of the many stand-out tunes (Flesh Storm, Skeleton Christ, Cult etc.). One for anyone who's a fan of riffs.
