I was wandering around the Citadel with Garrus and Tali and Garrus asked Tali of she missed the elevator rides. Cracked me up. It was hilarious.

With the infiltrator, the cloak is key. It gives a bonus to your attack, so cloak + head shot from sniper rifle = major killing power

I'm giving it a second run now. Liked the first one better tho. The second one seems way to short.

What the ****?

Way too short?

Its twice as long!

A thorough run of Mass Effect 1, on Hardcore difficulty, focusing on getting all sidequests done took me 26 hours.

A regular run of Mass Effect 2, on Veteran difficulty, without doing more than 5 n7 missions clocked at 42 hours when I brought the collector base down.

You're either doing something wrong, or don't remember ME1 right...

I guess I just don't like the class. Too many bugs and annoyances for me.

- When you fire a tech while you have the sniper rifle, the game zooms in pretty much effectively blinding you for a few seconds.

- Tactical Cloak slows or completely stops health/shield regeneration

- Throwing a fireball (incinerate) doesn't fit the Spec Op style of the Infiltrator.

And its not quite as dynamic and mobile as playing a Vanguard, which makes it kind of boring to me. With a Vanguard you do a lot of running around. With the infiltrator you can sit pretty far off while you send your more powerful team mates ahead, and snipe half the enemy forces dead before you run out of ammo, without moving a muscle.

I'm probably going to restart and turn my infiltrator character concept into a Soldier.

I'm probably going to hold off my second run for a week or two. Bioware have announced via twitter that the next batch of DLC (Hammerhead+Hammehead missions) are coming in 2-ish weeks.

I kept forgetting I had the cloak, I didn't really much like the class either.

I'm still waiting to start my 2nd run untill EA fixes their **** up, and get me my preordered gear :argh: :argh: :argh:

But that's the best part about being one! Nothing to me is more entertaining than springing up from my hiding spot and blasting some stupid asari biotic right in the face with the Widow-Maker lol.

While I'm not a big fan of shooters, on the other hand, I like moving. The Vanguard spoiled me rotten because it can be a brutal warrior, and you have to stay mobile to play effectively. Dart from cover to cover, charge, blast and retreat, etc.

Jep: Upgrade your stealth. I played an extremely mobile Infiltrator, using my stealth to get behind enemies and kill them. The recharge on the stealth is extremely low, and can be a massive amount of fun.

Yea it is maxed out with the +75% damage. I don't know, its not meshing as well as i thought it would with me. Oddly enough infiltrator was the first class I played in ME1 and the first class I loved.

I did the IFF mission as infiltrator, and melee'd just about every husk I came across. I love my sniper rifle, but stupid ammo severely limits the class's possibilities.

I have used cloak maybe three times in my entire playthrough. I actually re-rolled and got rid of the wasted points on it, as I had it maxed.
2010-02-05, 7:15 AM #177
i too started out ME1 as infiltrator, having played through vanguard and sentinel in ME2 i plan to make an infiltrator to see if its as fun as the others.

I really only used my cloak as a means of escape. Attacking with it usually landed me in hot water.

Try using the cloak more offensively, even using the sniper rifle at close range. The sniper rifle works great against husks if you have Shredder Ammo or a teammate with Team Incendiary or Team Shredder.

Husks aren't really a challenge in this game. The clip system and limited mods make them seem harder, until you figure out you can just blow off their legs in a couple shots with the pistol, then they die.

Shockwave as a vanguard (on Veteran) makes husk easy. You just fling shockwave left and right playing Husk Bowling.

They swarmed me ridiculously fast at the end. The stupid things don't drop ammo, and the pistol runs out ridiculously fast. Sniper rifle is just as bad with them. So many times I just wanted a grenade.

It's also incredibly annoying when you get 3-4 on you, it becomes Shepard ping-pong. Feels like I'm back in Left4Dead, unable to move.

The SMG is sometimes useful... and hey YEAH! They took out grenades! Not that they were that useful to begin with, but they were good at setting up traps on corners.

Also the Flamethrower from Zaeed's personal mission is awesome.

Yes it is, it was my best friend as a vanguard against bigger enemies.

Flamethrower was utter trash. Sniper rifle has far better damage output over any length of time, has more readily available ammo, and doesn't replace the nuke. Seriously, if you even think you might encounter some sort of boss, you bring the nuke. I killed the T-1000 endgame boss in TWO SHOTS. Boss battle over in 30 seconds.
2010-02-05, 1:32 PM #189
the flamethrower isn't bad against unshielded organics (and armor i guess). for example it probably wouldn't be too bad against husks

i talked up miranda during the game, did her loyalty quest; after tali's loyalty quest i got to a part where she says something about trusting shepard and you have 2 options "i don't want to be exclusive" and "i only want you". so you go with the not wanting to be exclusive one.

so you go through the omega-4 relay and bang miranda in the engine room. after the collector base mission you tell miranda you don't want her anymore. now you're free to go back down to tali and tell her you only want her, at this point it jumps up to shepard's cabin and you bang tali. :master:

I've failed as a man.... because I tried to do this, but didn't....

Anyway, is anyone else mad that the corpses of your foes disappear? I mean, what is this? 1996?? COME ON!? I want people to bear witness to my rampage..

The flamethrower worked great against those big war mechs. As soon as their attention is focused on one of your teammates, you're free to rapidly drain shields, armour, and health in but a few seconds. Personally I stuck with the Blackstorm Singularity Projector, which kicks all kinds of ***. The initial phase of the weapon works as well as the Vanguard's Shockwave, really, in the sense that everything in its path gets knocked silly. Shockwave for husks, Blackstorm for when they've got a Scion behind them.

WTF? ME 2 took me no more than 12 h to get all my teams loyalty and finish the story missions. I haven't played ME 1 in some time so I could be wrong but ME 2 is not 42 for sure.

I played 17 hours straight without collecting my full crew or completing the game..

Flamethrower is the worst weapon for war mechs. It takes like half of the flamethrower's ammo just to kill one damn mech. Meanwhile, a warp, a couple armor piercing sniper shells, and it's dead. 3 seconds at most. I tried using the flamethrower once but all it does is get you killed cause everything just shoots the crap out of you while you run around like an idiot trying to get into range of anything with it.

Plus, even worse, the flamethrower doesn't have the range necessary to even hit many of the bosses, like the reactor on the IFF mission.

Can you tell I was highly disappointed by the flamethrower? >.>
