Ah, now truly is the time for husbands to make it up to their wives...

...before winding right back up in the doghouse come Friday :P

Sadly, that is completely true. At least, it is in my family.

Heard a great thing on radio two this morning. Some guy rang in to the Terry Wogan show and said "someone, I believe it was a certain Mr Wogan, let slip on the radio that there was no football for today or tomorrow. Now the wife's got me doing all those jobs that I've managed to put off for weeks... mowing the lawn, doing the washing up, bathing...."

Although you've already taken the advice, I'm backing this up. I've never been in to football games, barely even played them. But it's just a fact that Pro Evo has always beaten the living crap out of FIFA, all the way back since I was selling them (a good 3/4 years ago now)

Spork, despite you looking ahead to the next big sports tournament, I'm well chuffed you're rooting for us lot. We really don't deserve to win it, but god damn, we want it!

Germany v Argentina and Ukraine v Italy tonight

The hosts against Argentina should be interesting, you'd have to fancy the winner of that game to meet Brazil (but hopefully England!!) in the final.

The other game I'm hoping for a massacre. Literally. Not that I'm bitter or anything...

Argentina too good for Germany.
Depends on the ref (definately rooting for Ukraine -who doesn't want to see a guy pull a spiderman mask from his JOCKS and stick it on his head?). Hopeful something terrible happens to Grosso and Totti.
2006-06-30, 12:43 AM #572
Sorry, but Klose + Podolski = too much for Argentina's back line

Yeah, if both Germany and Argentina play like they did in their last games, Germany will have no problems with Argentina.
Sorry for the lousy German
2006-06-30, 2:27 AM #574
Yeah, but if they both play like they did in their first couple of matches, it will be Germany who will suffer disappointment. That being said, I'm definately going to be cheering for the Germans.

Argentina's 1 up on Germany as of the 49th minute. Both teams are playing well, but Argentine is looking much more dangerous. I just hope Germany can equalize, and hopefully pull ahead.

They aren't going to be looking dangerous in overtime.

2006-06-30, 10:42 AM #579
Well, what can you say about that? Germany kicked their *** at penalties. GG Lehmann.

Looks like a bit of a scrap developing.
2006-06-30, 10:45 AM #580
thats a shame, i wanted argentina to go through, their football is more fun to watch.
2006-06-30, 11:10 AM #581
yeah, they had the goal of the tournament so far against Serbia and Montenegro
2006-06-30, 11:15 AM #582
Wait, so who won? I didn't see it.

Without Lehmann we would've been lost.
In my opinion we just kicked the best team of the World Cup out.

Now I've got a headache from shouting. :psyduck:
Sorry for the lousy German

Another nice story, my brother, who curently lives in Africa, watched the game with his girlfriends and some other friends, when suddenly an excavator cut through the TV cable.
Panicked they ran to their next neighbours to ask if they could watch TV there, but they didn't have a TV. So they went even further, when finally they found a house where they not only had a TV, but were already watching the game. They were from Argentina...
Sorry for the lousy German

Lehmann did well to make the two saves he did. Read everyone of Argentina's kicks correctly. Ayala's attempt was horrendous. No power, and not far enough to the corner. cambiaso's attempt was slighty better, but far from world class.

bah, looks like we'll be enduring another game of horrible italian football after this one, lets hope ukraine can score a few.

or maybe if everyone on the italian side gets messy hair, then they'll play worse.

Fat lady hasn't sung yet, spe.

Damnit, I just remembered: the Italians have been training hard.

Admins note: there're some singles adverts on that site. They're a bit suggestive, but not too bad. Just delete if it's inappropriate.

Edit: I can't believe Italy scored just now!
