I like it too, though I'm thinking most of the stuff you mentioned was all to Highemp's credit.

On another note, I kind of wonder where some of our previous regular writers went, or if they're just being particularly quiet to hide from Elmer Geb. Shhhhh, I'm huntin' writers, eh-eh-eh-eh-eh...

In my opinion, NeS needs less epic set-ups and more crazy. Seriously, this is about to be the third serious fantasy-type storyline in a row. No offense intended, but if you want to write "hardcore" fantasy stuff, take it to one of the serious fantasy threads.

If you're refering to the whole Sepulchral Phantom bit, he's definately in the background, at least as far as I'm concerned. I was under the intention that we were sort of doing a psuedo-parody on typical horror/suspense stuff, what with the Half-Life underground complex and dead bodies and haunted house and monsters and whatnot. Not to mention over half of the current storyline has thus revolved around Thrawn and Ahnuld and CM/Qwerty, whom I'm quite confident aren't doing anything hardcore, unless it's groping [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

Whatever the case may be, perhaps you'd like to take a more active role in keeping NeS more crazy and less hardcore oh quiet, hiding writer, lest I shoot you in your rabbit hole. Just don't confuse hardcore with epic. Sublte difference, perhaps, but still a difference.

On the flip side, I'd like to remind Highemperor to do his best to keep Morthandur and the hardcore fantasy that follows as much in the background as you can. Like stated before, the 1999th reply to NeS and NeShattered have been chock-full of it, and we'll need another good five story-arcs or the like before we can even think about returning to such. Perhaps it's a sign for me to jump-start TEW and the like back up... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

Just a note to you newer guys -- the thing with the Writers entering the Heroes' realm and doing stuff? It's been done before. To death. It also caused no end of headaches last time (at least for me, who was continually trying to sort out plotlines).

The Writers are supposed to be reflections of our RL selves, rather than distinct characters. Just keep that in mind, try to limit the use of the Writers to the odd post here and there, and I'll be happy. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

...and yes, I will at some point be done NeS post 1999, and will then rejoin the current NeS plotline. Some point soon. I hope. Just thought I'd say that again.

Krig's right on all his points. Though I ain't stopping anyone if they really want to go with it, just as long as its done well and all that stuff. I'll probably be more inclined to stick with the normal characters and stuff myself, so you all knows.

I do quite love TLTE's latest posts in particular though. Continuing the tradition of things flying out of the windows, hehehehhe.

It's all good, Noble. Just so long as the story's main focus stays on the Heroes, and the Writers stay in the background. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

Though on a more serious note, I think a good way to keep Writers in the background would be to keep their scenes always related to what they're writing -- like TLTE's post. Like: Writer writes something, other Writers disagree, fight erupts, something or someone gets thrown out the window -- stuff like that. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

Highemperor's thoughts in regards to his recent post. It's my idea that he come upfront with this stuff, so the rest of you can see what we all have in mind.

1. Geb IS Erro, and King Emp IS Highemp. When Erro "died", King took his body and made a pact with Alexan to become the beneficiary of his power, becoming Highemp, and restoring Erro's youth until he was a baby once more. Highemp kept baby Erro in suspended animation for almost a century before turning him over to the descendants of the Ohq line to be raised once more, who
dubbed him "Geb" Ohq.

2. Jim7 knows the truth about Morthrandur, because he was in the ceiling rafters of Desmond's chamber watching the final fight.

3. [If you want to reveal the truth of Morthrandur as undead Geb, go head, if not, don't write this in.]

As for myself (Geb), I'm quite dependant on the rest of you at the moment for any specifics at the moment.

It'd be nice if someone could ressurrect the old update screen.

And of course I mean Geb. Please. Maybe.

Also, I'd like to ask that we stick to one dimension/realm/whatever for a while, for the sake of guys like me who are trying to get back into it - it's enough trouble tracking down all the characters without figuring where everybody exists. Is the Haunted House in the eighth dimension? Is it in hell? If so, does that put the heroes in hell? Again?

See, so many questions...

[I'm not trying to be whiney here or anything, but the continuity has been moderately screwed up (moreso than usual) for most of the page 51 continuation.]

Basically the update screen listed all the active characters and where they where (perhaps what they were doing or their status or something).

Since we have a workshop thread, I'll probably include what appears to be the main story arc at the time as well. Maybe.

Just want to say that I'd highly prefer if, at least for the current story arc, the NeS heroes can't exit the 8th dimension through normal means and thus otherwise have to dig around the haunted house/creepy complex to uncover stuff that could help them establish a connection with the "normal" NeS and take care of Jim and whatever new story arc might unravel from that. Perhaps Evil Geb can be involved somehow -- there's a lot of open stuff to work with as far as the recent 1888 stuff and perhaps Morthrandur. Who knows? It's just good protocal to make things difficult for the heroes anyway [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Oh yeah, some character stuff and whatnot to think about:

  • Qhobeg's thoughts about Jim7, who made him and Gebohq, whom he was cloned from.
  • CoolMatty's issues with Mimiru, and with heavenly matters (recent issues with angel, previous deal to take care of evil w/Cinnabuns.)
  • How Highemperor will search for a way back to death, apparently involved with TLTE's presence.
  • How involved Mustang is with the HHH, Jim and the events that occured in 1888AD
  • How willing will Qwerty help the heroes in their quite grand and dangerous plans, and how Thrawn and Ahnuld might interfere.
  • TLTE's relations with Highemperor? How does he intend to exactly deal with magic-users? What about Gebohq and those that have wielded magic that are otherwise acting "good?"
  • How involved is Jim with the HHH? The events in 1888? How exactly does he feel about Geb (an apparent conflict between his apparent not-so-evil interests in Geb's lineage/his history as former Protector and his current anger towards Geb)? Many issues to deal with this one.
  • How involved is Morthrandur in the current events? How about Tod?
  • How many more codfish will be mistreated in the events to come? Will the sanity police have to work overtime? Will the heroes have to deal with rat infestation? WHERE THE HELL IS THE SCRIPT??? I could really use it right now... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

Expect the 1999th NeS post to be finished soon. The last pages are being written currently. It's epic, but more serious than the NeS can ever hope to achieve in its day-to-day adventures, which I believe to be a good thing in spite of the pro-zany supporters around. At least this one time the depth of character in the NeS community has been explored. Expect a return to our normal inane broadcasting, however...

OK, I read the end of the first post, but I'm still confused about what's going on with Jim7 and all that crazy stuff where my legond of dhoom is supposed to kill stuff... and... yeah.

Also, is there any need for the magical NeS script which JKtheWhite has in his grubby pink fingers?

Lastly, but not leastly, where is JKTW? And where is JK? Every once in a while I see my character pushed into something or other, but I can never keep track. Anyone wanna fill me in?

I'm pretty sure the script is no longer in JediKirby's hands, no? It was transformed into a ring which ended up in Geb's hands, and then it transformed into Erik the Avatar.

As far as where JKtW is -- the last time he's mentioned is roughly a third of the way down page 2 of NeS². He's apparently still in the place known as "1337", whatever and wherever that is, waiting for Geb to summon him into NeS. Of course, Geb the Hero doesn't know how he's supposed to do that, and has probably forgotten all about it, so that might be a while... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

Well wait, Erik is in NeS, not NeSS, I thought? Last time I checked, JKtW was protecting Erik in NeS, but is still in the nothingness of 1337, and his army of dhoom is "invisable" waiting for Gebohq The Hero to call on them. The script should still be in JKtW's hand... Perhaps the 1999th post should include Erik being beaten back into tablet form... or... something?

NeSo (NeS one, aka page 50 and before) = NeSquared. Krig's correct on both points as far as I know. JKtW perhaps has fallen under the many breakdowns that NeS is trying to resolve in NeSquared...who knows. All the Kirbies should be in 1337 anyway, like Krig said.

I'm still terribly confused why JKtW != JK. Wasn't JKtW suppose to be JK brought back from the Kirby army war-thing on page 42-45-ish? My only clear understanding of the Kirby-stuff is that they work behind the NeS scenes like techies and that JKtW apparently is the head/voice for them.
The Plothole: a home for amateur, inclusive, collaborative stories

2004-05-04, 3:39 PM #107
The sequence of events is: JKtW protects Erik during the Final Fight of post 1999, JKtW seems to die/vanish, then JKtW shows up in NeS² in the 1337. While NeS² and the final post of NeS Prime are being written simultaneously, they occur (in the story) sequentially. So by the time of the first post of NeS², the final post is supposed to have been finished.

Hopefully, any questions and such should be cleared up once Post 1999 is finished and, well, posted. Which I assure you, is more imminent than you may believe.

I'd just like to note, that in NeS Squared, the army of the kirbies is at the tip of Gebohq's finger. Not to mention, the reason Geb and friends were rewrouted to 1337 was that JKtW had read within the writings of NeS (The neverending script) that the world would end, and that all of the heroes would die. If you read my post carefully, you see that he claims that Gebohq must do SOMETHING to change the fate of NeS as far as the "Prophecies" go.

I don't know, after reading the above, I feel like I sort of got a bit too.. Epic and Raping-of-the-plotish with my above post... but hey, the current arch with the 8th ring is all a flashback of the future, which is ruled by that bad guy whos name I have yet to remember... In any-case, maybe I'm more justified by that post by someone or another?

Also, this isn't the best place to post it, but it might get read more here: I need a hand-full of experienced forum-writers to help me out with a forum RPG. All I really need are responsable NPCs that are crafty enough to keep a story going, and can help me get this RPG on it's feet. Just PM me in the chat for more. Thanks.

Just wanted to post my idea here for the new story arc. I'll be writing it up as soon as possible anyways, but perhaps you all have something else in mind, or something. NeS seems to be in a slump, and perhaps this new idea is quite fit considering such circumstances. Anywhos...

My idea for the next story arc is that NeS (and the characters within) fall asleep, and that everyone finds themself in a dream world (where cah-ray-zee things can happen! *wiggles fingers*). The major "conflict" will be a simple one -- NeS has a nightmare that the EeP returns. The NeS crew will thus battle off NeS's fear. Before, during, and/or after such nightmare battling, NeS (and the characters) will dream happy things, like a great vacation. The way I see it, the pros for this are great -- we get to do WHATEVER (not as successful with the 8th dimension as intended, but don't get me wrong -- I like the 8th dimension as is, and it'll make a good home for the new HoH) and we'll be able to capitalize on character stuff (as this story arc will delve into the fantasies and fears of our characters and NeS). Once we've finished up, NeS can wake up, nice and refreshed [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

I also have an idea for a story arc after that, which Ford was a big part of kicking around, which involves potentially getting a lot of new writers, but it'd involve another side-trip like TACC and NeShattered, and I have some careful treading around the idea before I think I can find a way to pull it off. It'd most likely involve the Story Arcade and the Gaming Guardians, more accurately involving their forums. Like I said, there's a lot of things I need to consider to be able to pull it off, but if I think I can get it to work, I think it'd have a high potential for success.

The dream story arc looks good to me, since we don't really have any plot at the moment, other then the robot bad guys, who aren't quite up to the task of supervillain at the moment, methinks. I had an idea as to what i wanted to do for my guy, but i think i can add it into this arc pretty easily, so go for it.

geb told me to post this. after this recent interlude into the writers realm an idea occurred to me. and after reading geb's post, it seemed like the two ideas could fit together.

all i have are vague images, but basically, due to lack of motivation, the writers decide they're going on strike until they get something in return for their efforts.

now NeS being an organism outside the writers control gets bored with their inactivity and falls asleep.

really this is just an excuse to play in the writers realm for me. i dont do it often enough for my liking. cause i got some really good material, and if i werent running on 4h of sleep and one really good meal, i'd post something now. but as it is i'm tired and need to go to bed.

A random topic for discussion, while waiting for...well... me mostly it seems. D'oh.

Is TLTE a good guy, or a bad guy? Since page 20-something, he's continually banded with the heroes in one post only to want to kill them in the next. It would seem since page 45-ish, when fighting the Kirby clones, that TLTE would cast away his villianous ways for good and perhaps become W-S. Is that the case? Or is it that TLTE, like his inability to stay dead, is also inable to stay good, destined by nature to want to take over the world and kill those that get in his way?

As for me, well, Geb's almost always thought of him as a good guy, even when TLTE was trying to stuff him with lead. Geb's a bit weird like that.

Oh, btw, I personally think in Tracer's last post we should find out that J-Bob and Otter are in fact Ahnuld and Thrawn in disguise, seeing how the heroes shouldn't be "on sabbatical" but entering the creepy complex to restore power and/or figure out how Geb used the Thingy without power, etc.

More importantly though I suppose is just to finish this storyarc when we can. I'll be doing what I can to post, really, but if any of you want to do the transition to the next story arc, don't let me stop you [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] Anywhos...
