I think dog tags outside the shirt look sloppy. I don't care if people wear them, I just think wearing your ID tags outside your shirt makes you look sloppy. All I know is the ladies love those things hitting them in the back of the head. At least, the girls I know, I'm sure it's not a universal thing. Right?
Anyway, you're wrong, they do look cool, to most people. The only people they are offending, and look stupid to are some servicemembers. I used to be offended by rockstars and the like wearing dress blue tunics, or as you said, jump wings on jackets, but I don't care anymore. They're just cloth, and pieces of metal we attach value to. They represent what is inside of a person and that they belong to an organization and do so with pride. If a person does not have those things in them, or doesn't belong, it turns into just fabric or metal or plastic or whatever it is.
I didn't earn that little metal emblem my Drill Instructor put in my hand, I didn't earn my camoflauge treesuit, I didn't earn my dress blues or the Eagle Globe and Anchor on my cover. I earned the title Marine and there is nothing that can take that away from me.
Thats just me, but the idea that you can declare what looks cool because it offends you in some way is really dumb. It might not look cool to you, but in the real world (the military may be the real ****ing world but it's not the "real world", know what I mean?) it's just another fashion that can look as good as any other.
I do believe it is a felony or at least a very serious offense to wear a Medal of Honor that you have not had bestowed on you. I do have somewhat different feelings on purple hearts, navy crosses, combat infantryman badges and the like, but even so, it doesn't make me mad when people wear them.
Nice flecktarn jacket, Ringmaster.
Epstein didn't kill himself.
