As you look at the picture the ribbons on the left, with brass surrounds, are unit awards. You get to wear those when you are in that unit as well as any unit awards that were awarded when you were in a unit. In other words, an individual can wear more unit awards than just what the current unit of assignment has received. Above that are foreign jump wings and above that is regimental affiliation. The right side of the uniform from bottom to top are maksmanship, airborne, air assault qualifications, ribbons represnting various medals and such, and then on top the Combat Infantrymans Badge.
