A hollow point .380 penetrates less than a .22LR round. If you shoot a target wearing a jacket, it won't penetrate enough. Go with FMJ. Keep a HP +p in the pipe and standard ball +p in the magazine (if the firearm can handle +p, I didn't look it up).

I carry a Ruger LCP - seven rounds of Speer Gold Dot is going to put a hurting on someone, especially considering it's a "shove it up their nose and pull the trigger" gun. :P

Once I have a nice IWB holster, I'll carry my Glock 36 more often - but a little gun is better than no gun at all!

More robots. One rabbit-eared one wearing purple jammies, one tiny guy that turns into a gun that the purple guy (or other guys) can hold, one guy made of fire that might have ruined your childhood, and a die cast Matrix of Leadership for the sort of emergency situation where I'd need such a thing.
I also got some sexy catgirls, but they're not gonna get here until... let's assume thursday for now.
I also got an evil motorcycle robot.

I sure did!

I recently bought:

And my buddies and I went in on this:

The top photo is of a jig set for cutting out my own AR lowers - both AR15 (5.556 NATO and similar calibers) and AR 308 (7.62 NATO), also called an AR10.

The bottom photo is of 5 AR15 lowers. I will get one of the lowers.

The lowers aren't complete; we have to do the mill work ourselves. We'll end up saving about $125 per piece by going this route, as well as avoiding the required registration and associated fees. The primary disadvantage is that I have to mill it out before it's useful; the advantages are lower price, no registration, superior product, personal pride in a product I've made myself, and the opportunity to custom engrave anything I want on the sides of the lower.
2011-01-10, 10:00 AM #1666
How exactly do you go about milling the lowers?

It's easy with the jigs. The jigs are basically just a pattern showing where to mill. It's really easy. A friend did a few on his mill. He said the first one took 30 minutes. After that he got used to it and did the next three in 20 minutes total.

I'm using almost that exact same mill for a machining project, except the one I'm using has a DRO. It's pretty damn nice.

I thought you could get stripped lowers for under $200 in recent memory..is that wrong, or are those really that cheap? I am intrigued.

You can get stripped lowers for under $100. The problem for me, though, is that California sucks and has banned a variety of lowers and make it a general pain in the balls to get one. Even still, these are cheaper. Total cost, including tooling, is $80 per + 10-15 mins on the mill. A 308 lower goes for about $400. The unfinished lower is $190, plus tooling. Saves me about $190. Further, these all of these lowers machined from a 7075 T6 billet, not cheaply forged like many others. It's a superior product.

The two major factors for me, however, are the lack of registration requirements and the ability to personalize. I do not have to record serials, fill out paperwork, or let any government agent know I have it. I just can't sell it.

I can also personalize the lower with painting, engraving, anodizing or whatever without it violating any laws.

tl;dr: CA sucks

I anticipate this enabling some badass draw times.

That picture is from internet, but my friend has the same model Bridgeport mill where he works. He works for one of our old professors (who is a good friend now), and has been given keys to the building and run of the place. I've used it a handful of times to make brackets and other various little bits for projects, it's really excellent. My skills are still improving, but my friend is very adept.
