For the record, on the left you can see the state my HD280 Pros were in when I stopped using them in September 2009, having lasted 4 years (2005-2009). I finally threw them away today.

And on the right, my AKG K271 MKIIs that I got and have used since September 2009. Extremely minimal damage (the channel indicators have fallen off in these years), and I've treated them in the exact same way I treated the HD28 Pros.

So I really don't know if I got the only cursed pairs of HD280 Pros in existence, or if they were just not made for me.

(And one set of cursed pairs is enough for me!)

I occasionally make the rounds of the various thrift stores to see what I can find. Today I picked up a turntable for $5. It works!

I never had a PS2 but I found one for $20. Then I picked up a couple AV switches so I could hook multiple consoles to my monitor and tabletop stereo.

Conversely, I like to donate some stuff back. I needed to clear some space for movies. All of these were duplicates, mostly because we have them on bluray now.

I also needed to clear some book shelf space. Most of these books were unread and one of them is even autographed (found deep in the bowels of an Iraqi structure). All of them by people that I now realize are frauds.

As I glance at the pictures there are all of these odd easter eggs included. Weird.
